In the game you have to defeat Rayman's shoe thats on the loose by ramming into it. But if you hit the walls while boosting, you lose a point in your score counter.

Though if your talking about the gamecube exclusive minigame then in mad trax, one player races with the shoe, while the person with the gba plays a tetris style game, and you two must work together to get to the end of the course. The 4 player version wheelis is the same thing but with two teams, and 2 players must race each other while the two gba players compete in the tetris like minigame.
