I also decided when I quit that I would still join in the occasional spliff, so I hope that doesn't reset the clock of recovery, otherwise I might as well just not quit

Yeah... I just tried to work out roughly how much I'm saving and it's not a lot. I also don't necessarily buy that I was killing myself with the amount I was smoking, before I quit it was less than a pack a week. It was really just a nice thing to do when at the pub with friends. Some parties I'd smoke/share like two packs but I never noticed a difference based on how much/little I smoked, and I'm not noticing a difference now.

Well, if the 'two weeks per cigarette' thing is anything to go by, no, it won't 'reset your recovery' as much as postpone the endtime before you've seen it through.
The problem with these kinds of things is that - unless you're really pushing it -, no, you won't notice immediate (detrimental) effects. You'll only start wearing your voice out if you're a long-time chain smoker. You'll only start noticing shortness of breath if you're a looooong-time chain-smoker.
But even if you smoke only a little, the adverse effects are there. They're just chronic, so you won't notice anything about them short-term, no. But you'll be raising the chances that you develop some horrid disease later on in your life. I guess you could see it as a long-term 'counter-investment', if that helps the visiualisation.
Of course, your life is your life and you're absolutely more than capable of deciding what you want to do with it. If a casual smoke with friends is what you enjoy doing, be my guest. I'm not here to ruin your fun.
For me, it's just one of those things I could never be convinced to do for the sole reasons I've stated above. I don't see how a social activity that may end up ticking off years off my life could be worth it. I can be just as entertaining and entertained socially without the cigarette. But I guess having had asthma helps me reach that decision a lot more easily as the things make me cough just being around them, lol. I'll have some in-built that-thing-is-bad-for-you, see, it's-making-you-cough-better-avoid-it-mechanism (I'm really starting to push it with these hyphenated phrases aren't I) in my instincts by now.

+ That pesky back pain has improved a bit...

I have the best idea! We should get her a fruit basket! I suggest Candy takes care of it all and we watch as she gives herself the basket!

I might just do that, only instead of eating it, apply it to my back
