Have some shameless self-advertising. xD
This footage was recorded with "only" 3 players though. :D
The spoken language is Hungarian which I'm sure that all of you will understand flawlessly.

My grandmother used to be flawless in Hungarian but she forgot almost all of it :P

Wow, that sounds awesome! Also, I have the original Hungarian 2 CD release as well which was released in a "big box" like all games back in the old days.
Unfortunately though my grandmother (the coincidence hurts xD) mistook the box with some random trash and threw it out shortly after I got it for Christmas back when the game was released. Thank God, the discs were not in the box, so those were saved by fate and I still have them. :)

So I went ahead and tested things to see which character is fastest. I don't really know if it's accurate because I only tested about 1 second of running :mryellow:, and I probably went wrong in math because of Globox, Hench, Tily, Hench1000 and Mrs Razorbeard. Look by yourself:

Rayman : 3903 - 4159 = 256
Globox : 3493 - 3748 = 255
Teensies: 3763 - 4019 = 256
Hench: 3889 - 4144 = 255
Razorbeard : 3656 - 3912 = 256
Dark Globox : 3669 - 3925 = 256
Tily : 3639 - 3894 = 255
Hench 1000: 3751 - 4006 = 255
Mrs Razorbeard: 3631 - 3886 = 255

Ignore the maths, just look at the 255/256, the things were help for me :p
I think character has equal speeds, 256 frames to get to where I thought. I probably went wrong with maths with some chars ^^

I wonder how you calculated the distances, then?

But yeah, it wouldn't exactly be fair to give some racers advantage over others just because they were different characters.
Then again, lots of games do this regardless (I'm looking at you, Mario Kart) - so maybe it would add strategic diversity having characters that are better at recovering from sticky goo/being hit by barrels/laser fences but slower on the track, some that slid faster down slippery slopes, others that jump higher or have slightly faster travelling projectiles?

I didn't tested all that lel, I just took one flat level, I calculated when I get stun (by the electricity) and did that with all characters :p

Doesn't the recovery time in most of the cases (like being hit by those lockjaw things in one of the waterfall levels or getting electrocuted) depend on how much you are mashing the triangle button (or it's PC equivalent)? After I realized this (I was already playing the game for quite some time then) my recovery time decreased drastically.

I'm not sure though if this applies to all of the cases like getting smashed by barrels for example.

You can also mash W on your keyboard in the PC version C:

I didjn't took in consideration the recovery time, I took first frame when the character had the "star around him" to show he's stun

If there's one thing I absolutely love about this game it's the countdown section during the arena fights. It's so intense that I dare to say that none of my other multiplayer experiences have ever surpassed it. 8)

My personal favorites are the countdowns of Spellbound Forest and Haunted Yard, because major guitar riffs! :yeah:

I love the countdown of Rise and Shrine. It's just so... yes. Also Spellbound Forest has one of the best tracks ever (+1 to Ad's rendition of it for RotD).

Is it available to the public? I'd love to listen to it, but only if it's available. :)

Here's the main topic if you hadn't found it yet. Note that Ads is still quite busy working up a website to replace the front page and still very much in the middle of development etc. etc. etc.

Some of my teachers at the university seems to have a fetish for digital live countdowns, because every time I write an exam supervised by them, they put it in, but only these very few individuals in the whole university are doing this so it's most likely not a new rule to do such a thing, it's only a thing for them.

Anyway, when it reaches the point when there are only 30 seconds left to finalize your stuff, I always hear the countdown of Haunted Yard in my head. xD
