Yes, Unreal Engine 4 is absolutely free for anyone to use now. :>

Also, if you want to get into using it, check out Zak Parrish's tutorials on YouTube. That man's a flipping genius. All his videos are uploaded on Unreal Engine's account.

Source 2 and Source FTW. Not that unoptimized crap of Unreal. Every Unreal game powered with this engine gave me lag. Fuck that, Source 4 ever.

Maybe it lags because... I don't know...you have very bad and outdated PC and not because it is unoptimized?

IDK, Unreal gave me some problems lagging, I see it like a good engine, but it basically lags me a lot. I have a bad problem with that engine. For example, MOH Airborne, from 2007 gave me lag. A frigging game from 2007. And it's not even updated anymore with "graphical updates". Meanwhile TF2 gave me less problems with its engine. And yeah, I'm sorry about the "unreal sucks period" thingy, it was idiotic from my part.

What are your specs? Have you checked them against Unreal's minimum requirements?

Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only)
2.0+ GHz processor
2 GB system RAM
A graphics card with shader model 3.0 support.

Hmm, maybe the problem here is the Shader Model 3.0 support. And, they are so minimum any computer can run it.

I screwed it up, right?

But still, it lags a lot for me.
