Which is bad, because...? Wouldn't it be easier to come out if you had your parents to look up to? < doesn't see the big deal. But < guesses it makes sense in that guy's experience.

Yeeeah < isn't really a fan of the 'tough love' argument. Especially since statistically LGBT teens are more likely to survive and succeed if their home environment is a supportive one - not that het parents can't be supportive, of course. Besides, the more non-hetero carers there are, the less likely existing prejudices are to continue.
