Super Mario 64, aiming for 100%. I've been playing for 2 days and have 45 stars so far. People don't seem to like the controls, but I seroiusly love the N64 controller
Re: What games are you currently playing?
This wasn't recently but I played Leauge of Legends. That game is boring as hell.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Eh, I could never get into LoL. I have tried a game of a similar genre called Dota 2, I liked it but it's nothing I'd get hooked into.
I finally finished No More Heroes 1 today. Holy shit so many opinions I have. It's flawed as fuck but the style is so good it truly makes up for it. I'm a huge fan of No More Heroes 2, played through it 5 times, seriously. So I decided to go back and buy NMH 1 which I had missed. I got the PS3 version, it also came out on Wii though, as the PS3 version is a full blown remake. The style of the game is just so lovely, rather than being cell-shady like the wii version it was a mix of cell shading and realism.
While it was flawed you need to give it credit, it IS the first of it's kind, a motion controlled hack 'n slash that ACTUALLY didn't suck. The cutscenes are so lovably stupid it's impossible to hate them. The combat system is incredibly bare bones, there really isn't much to it. The bosses similar to NMH 2, are the highlight, they're so great, none of them can be forgotten. Similar to Metal Gear Rising's "Parry exploit" which made the game super easy, No More Heroes had a similar exploit involving "dark step" which you could consistently spam to no end.
It amazes me how this PS3 version is a remake of the Wii version... and they fixed nothing in the gameplay department, NOTHING. All of the critiques people gave the game, boring side jobs, rather shallow combat system, etc, Suda 51 did NOTHING to improve it. Graphically it looks way better, but with that comes a cost, the graphics on NMH are so good that the frames will drop in the single digits at times, something that DID not happen in the Wii version.
Though the game is incredibly flawed with it's combat and gameplay, you REALLY have to appreciate the effort Suda put into it, it really is a must play hack 'n slash. It's incredibly fun and satisfying. If you have too though, skip NMH 1 and play 2, just read the events of what happened on 1 to catch yourself up. 1 is a great game, but if you're gonna play it bare in mind it really does have a lot of problems. NMH 2 was practically perfection.

Amazon decided to dump £15 on my account to spend on apps and what game do I get?
Plague Inc. Most addictive phone game I've played in an age.

Heh I'm not a huge mobile gamer, go for Rayman Jungle run or Fiesta. I remember the HD Sonic 1 & 2 remakes were really good (it baffles me why 3 doesn't yet exist.)

These two MOBA games are okay if you play them alone, or don't have friends to make you stick to it until you can start enjoying it while playing on your own.Rayfist wrote:Eh, I could never get into LoL. They are very team-focused, so the more you are playing with friends, the funnier it will be. I almost only play League with at least a friend, and most of the time with 3 or 4 of them. It also helps because sometimes you have a bad game, but if you are playing alone, you can have people starting to yell at you for not being "at their level", or "sucking with the champion" you are simply trying to play with. That is actually the main reason why people stopped playing the game: some people can't accept that their team won't do as they want.

I am right in the act II of Dragon Age II.
This game is getting very sad right now. My sister in the game died from an illness during a journey, and my mother in the game got turned into a frankenstein-ish monster by a freak mage.
Your character has two siblings and his/her mother right at the beginning with him. But one of them has to die right into the prologue, and the second one can only survive (or stay with you) at the end of Act I with VERY specific conditions gathered (see it as "you're pretty much screwed regarding this if it is your first run and you avoided spoilers...").
Game mechanics are becoming a bit faster now that I got the grasp on them. My main character, a rogue, acquired two very powerful skills, which, when well-combined, can help me to get rid of the most annoying enemies on the battlefield very quickly (say, the insane mages here and there) before they can go on stealth or just teleport somewhere else throw some nasty big AOE damage at you. It's actually very crucial, as I'm still getting some death screens because I'm not paying attention to the spawn of these guys.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Hmm, probably more prudent for the recommendations thread, but I was looking into the City Sim genre, and have been wondering about getting Cities: Skylines when the sales hit.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
So Adsolution and Technology had watched me do a playthrough of The Walking Dead (Season 1), it was a pretty awesome experience, some scenes that caused me to be a bit jumpy, but it was excellent, look forward to Season 2.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been playing Sonic Generations, the need for a controller is immense.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Call o' Dootyeh Zombehs, a lil' bit of Minecraft (It's been a long time since I haven't played in Reese's Server...) and maybe looking forward to buy a Zombie DLC for BO 2. Anyways, does somebody recommend me CS GO? I'm not a big fan of the CoD Fanbase (omg u quickscoped!!!!) and the insta-kill Knife, or the ADS (but I'd love that to happen tho) I dunno if I will buy it, I didn't had a good time with CS 1.6, people just freaking bashed me to death, and I was pretty bad to play in the game,
I don't know if that will happen in CS GO.
And that's another reason game companies need to release demos for their games.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Final Fantasy VII on STEAM.
It truly is an awesome RPG. You'll have idiots try to tell you it "Hasn't aged well" but these are the exact same people who downplay Mario 64 and Zelda OoT. The game is charming on so many levels. Yes the design choice for the character models are really strange, but the music, incredible art style and world to explore just make up for it so much. After diving into the Final Fantasy series, Pokemon is really starting to grow on me. Final Fantasy is a more complex yet better RPG series to be honest.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Well, FFVII hasn't become many players' favorite game ever without reason !

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Well I just started diving into the series. And I really am enjoying it!
And of course you're right Des, some people just think that we're "nostalgia blinded" for liking it, but this isn't the case with me since I did not grow up on FF7.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Indeed, nostalgia has nothing to do with it. Its looks are the only thinks that have aged, and frankly I still find the CGIs amazing.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I still prefer FF9.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I hear some folks prefer the later FF playstation titles... I'll just have to figure this out myself!
