Yeah so then it's not a 'new' port of the game. It's a downloadable version of the PS1 port.

Exactly. It's a port for a console (PS1), and so, (transfered) emulated in a PS3. Not any kind of "special and new" port, just an "emulator".

Ah my bad, didn't know they were just emulations of the PS1 games. I believe the PSP version is as well, isn't it?

I'm so making a comic about this.

Is this, another punch to my face because I am not explaning myself?

What? No. You said "No, Shrooblord, Imco is correct [and you are wrong] in that the PS3 game is another Rayman port and not an emulation, seeing as it's an emulation of a previous port and not a new port to begin with."

Or at least that's what the 'no, you're wrong, Imco's right' seems to imply, before you explain exactly the opposite of that. Whatever. It's not that big of a deal (though it is nonsensical).

"PSN" is also a version. Sure it's just the PS1 version tacked on, but regardless, the PS1 version of R2 can still be bought and played on PS3, PSP, and even VITA.

It's debateable whether that should actually be included but I count it as just "PSN".

Hmm..debatable. I guess so, seeing as it does add a few things courtesy of Sony's emulation, but at face value, it's just the PS1 version. I guess a similar debate could be made about emulated games on WiiWare.

Eh to be fair, I don't see much harm in counting it as long as you're talking about the service itself and not the console. I see "wiiware" often counted for re-releases.

This was probably discussed before but is there a way to change the keyboard mapping of Rayman 2? Did anyone try to play with a gamepad? Is it programmable too? Does it works well?

I usually prefer to play platformers with gamepads, but I grew up with Rayman on a keyboard, so as far as I know I'm not entirely sure if R2 has gamepad support on PC.

I'm sure you could very easily find a way to play with the use of a program like Xpadder or DS3 tool. Might not be easy though

Rayman 2 can detect gamepads, it ran with proper analogue control, but without button mapping options, you're going to have to rely on something like xpadder.

And the keyboard mapping? Is it configurable?

Nope, what you get is what you get, once again you'll have to rely on third party software to remap keys.

Right, which really sucks. I don't get why at the time Ubisoft did not feature an option to change the controls. Not that they are bad (they are excellent) but problems emerge if you upgrade your keyboard and figure out that some button combinations like making Rayman run forward+left and jump over an obstacle and Rayman does not jump, so he dies. So despite of being marketed as anti-ghosting, it seems it is not for every key. Fantastic. I could only minimize this problem by using MotionInJoy and modify the layout of the Xbox 360 controller emulation in order to feel more like PS1 controls.

For the 3 sequels I was forced to change the keyboard layout but it feels less ergonomic for me.

I've sent an e-mail to the manufacturers to see what are they going to say although I highly doubt I can do anything about this.

Ah yes, ghosting. Real pain in the arse in sections like the Precipice, where I'm trying to helicopter down that large cave and I'm moving in a diagonal direction, and I can't hit the helicopter bombs because space doesn't work when I've got two directional keys pressed.

I will try to return to the shop and see if I can trade for a better keyboard that really doesn't have this problem. The fact that the market of gaming keyboards with PT layout is very limited, makes the search for the perfect keyboard a real pain.

I am replacing my Logitech Desktop Cordless MX5000 since I use it intensively for almost 8 years and it has got lots of wearing already. Interestingly enough I never had ghosting issues with it.

I might go for an ASUS Strix Tactic Pro in case I am allowed to trade.

This Amazon page for Rayman 3D claims that it has "4-player wireless support", "3 full game modes" and "Your choice of control options". How can they get away with lying to people like this?
