Re: Rayman Legends
One thing for sure, Rayman 3's music was pretty hip hop orientated.

Re: Rayman Legends
Good observation. Hoodoo's theme comes into play here, no?Bradandez wrote:One thing for sure, Rayman 3's music was pretty hip hop orientated.
Rayman 2's primary focus was on exploration, while R3 had lots of hidden goodies and secrets the core gameplay felt more like a beat em up than a platformer. A very well done beat em up at that. Rayman 3 has quite possibly one of the best combat systems that rivals the like of other beat em ups/hack 'n slashes, it's so simple but it works so well.

*Rayman
*Brain Games (debatable on the myriad of others, but definitely this one)
*TV Series
*Rayman 2: The Great Escape
*Bowling, Golf & Garden
*Rayman 3 GBA
*Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
*Hoodlum's Revenge
*RRR1 and 2 (this is also debatable, but definitely not TV Party)
*Rabbids GBA
*Origins/Jungle Run
*Slap, Flap and Go
*Legends/Fiesta Run
I want to find ways to include Rayman GBC and Rayman 2 Forever, but couldn't find a place for them.
And holy sh*t I still haven't played hoodlums revenge
Re: Rayman Legends
Yes, I am saying it because it is a spin-off. Super Smash Bros games are for example spin-offs too and not canon of Mario, Zelda, ect. timeline.Bradandez wrote:Yeah, but what you're saying is that Rabbids ain't canon. They happened they just happened to be separated. And they could have returned in Legends, they devs certainly considered it until they ultimately got scrapped.OldClassicGamer wrote:No shit lol. They use Rabbids a lot.
I never said that devs pretend Rabbids no longer exist. I am well aware Rabbids have a lot of media.
Of course others have their right to consider Rabbids canon just how I have right not to, but I pointed it out that those who consider Rabbids canon might as well consider Educational spin-offs canon because it makes no sense to consider one canon and not the other one.
Rabbids could have returned in Legends and that is true but there is a valid reason why they didn't. Dev team realized it would fuck up entire Rayman Timeline and Ancel said: "No more Rabbids man", implying that he does not want those two franchises to be connected. Rabbids started as a characters meant to be part of Rayman timeline but ever since game was changed to minigame collection that was no longer a case. It's like saying that Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix is part of Mario timeline, saying that NBA Street V3 is part of Mario timeline and that Mario really did meet NBA players in real world.
Re: Rayman Legends
Rayman Bowling is totally canon, yo.
Re: Rayman Legends

Re: Rayman Legends
I didn't need to put that because there's no way it can be canon. I tried but I couldn't find a way to rationalize Razorbeard and the pirates coming back just to have racing and battling competitions with the good guys.CHRdutch wrote: *Rayman M/Arena

I'll get the save file.

Re: Rayman Legends
Rayman M/Arena makes way more sense to be canon than any of Rabbids games.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:I didn't need to put that because there's no way it can be canon. Re: Rayman Legends
There is no canon.
The concept of canon as it exists today is an invention of Lucasfilm. Obsessive nerds latched onto it and started applying it to every series they could, and a whole lot they couldn't. Thankfully Ubisoft never declared a rigid "Rayman canon". The developers of each Rayman game are free to incorporate or disregard any aspect of any previous game, and they often do. Did Rayman 1 stop being "canon" when Origins changed the species of many of its characters? No. Would Rayman M become "canon" if a future console platformer included characters like Razorwife and Tily? No. This way of dividing works is a reductive fan construction with no bearing in reality. If you enjoy a spin-off game, or find it interesting, that's what counts – not whether it contradicts the story in a manual from 1999. No part of Rayman is more real or valid than any other.
The logic I've outlined above applies to pretty much every serial fiction, but the Rayman series also includes a narrative device whereby the games exist within a dream world. If you're the sort of person who can't accept inconsistencies or discontinuities, this can be used to explain literally all of them. It's the equivalent of the idea in Doctor Who that time can be rewritten.

Re: Rayman Legends
Wow, it took me fifteen months but I finally obtained one million lums in this game. I don't know if getting to play as nude Rayman is the best reward, but it sure feels satisfying.
Though I have to say, Rayomz's feet look seven kinds of fucked up.

Re: Rayman Legends
Gratz! If one is to do the challenges and replay some of the levels and also collecting the Creatures' loot, it would take like a month or so. The real challenge though is getting to the Evelenth Level of Awesomeness.

I haven't got 1mil ever in any version of RL, I do wish Ubi had the sense for multiplatform saving and whatnot, t'would have made it a bit easier to simply carry on from my PS3 save than start anew.

Re: Rayman Legends
Because Uplay on PC is such a piece of shit great program, it deleted all my achievements, occasionally it will reload again mid-game. I actually still have yet to reach max awesomeness but I'm very close, even if I do I won't be surprised if the achievement doesn't load.
Re: Rayman Legends
It took me a good while until I managed to unlock the final skin too, so congratulations!

Re: Rayman Legends
I think the final unlockable could've been a lot better. (Unless you find naked Rayman attractive, then by all means, enjoy)
