As far as I know, not really. Project M is shunned from Miiverse though and you ultimately will get in trouble for posting it (either a temporary ban or something else.)

This is why I think people like Segagogo who OCG posted are honestly really just living in their own little world. I love Sakurai's work, but having Project M shunned from miiverse is just truly ignorant. It seems Sakurai just wants nothing to do with them.

I'm not fully sure if it's Sakurai that's making it this way or just Nintendo themselves.

I get Sakurai never really intended Smash to be played competitively. If I were him however, I'd be honored for people playing my game a different way than I intended. It's like speedrunners, of course the developer didn't really intend for the game to be played like that, but it's a nice different way of playing.

Well, knowing he was at work for several years without either weekends on holiday, and Nintendo created a special device to keep him at work when he strained his dominant hand (and should have taken a vacation because of his injury IMO), you can imagine that he is proud of the games he has created, but it also carved painful memories in his flesh and probably his soul.

Now imagine that he had the same interpretation to Project M as I have (which I'm not saying he has). That would create a pretty powerful (but understandable) hatred, don't you think?

Honestly I do hope Sakurai recovers as I've read he's worked his ass off with Smash 4, I hope he gets better. I'm still saying from a personal viewpoint, I'd be honored. Most big devs for games like Skyrim, or GTA, are often honored by the presence of fan made mods. Look at companies like Valve, they encourage the use of mods. Sakurai has to be the only dev I've came across whose very strict with mods. Sakurai has created a near work of art, but getting mad over mods is honestly a little ridiculous. Also I highly doubt Sakurai is offended to the point you're making it to be, just disappointed. Besides, it's not just Project M, he's shunned competitive Smash in his own titles before anyways...
