So, I just finished watching Toon Grumps. April Fools' my ass, it's probably one of my favourite things that NewGrumps have done. Watching Ross' process was interesting, the conversation never got boring (it even managed to bookend itself!), and... just a really chill, yet passionate podcast. The future of Youtube/internet animation had been troubling me a bit since the algorithm changed, so to see Arin and Ross frankly discuss this very topic - the old days of Newgrounds (an apt name), perceptions versus the reality of work before and after the change, as well as their own efforts to nurture the form in its new environment - was super enlightening. Reminds me that I need to give SleepyCast a listen.
Disappointed that we don't get Meow Train though.

Toon Grumps was indeed good. Even Arin's attitude was good- something that has been very uncommon lately. This might be because he was discussing something he enjoyed.
The old days of Newgrounds was awesome- I was very well versed with that community (I was exposed to Stamper in a not so great way though...)
I think you'd like Sleepycast too, the cast is just really hilarious.

I wouldn't mind if they made more. Maybe like a tutorial for newbzz. After all, it was Dan who said that everybody should be proud of what they do and encouraged them to take lessons on what they would like to do. The logical step would be for Game Grumps to provide those lessons.Rayfist wrote:Toon Grumps was indeed good. Even Arin's attitude was good- something that has been very uncommon lately. I wonder if we'll see gaming channels start to host animation in a big way, a bit like what Arin's trying to do with Game Grumps Animated slots. Many web animators got their breaks through videogame-related cartoons, so the connection is already well established.

Danny is just a generally awesome guy, not once has he ever said something that threw me off. It amazes me how he easily can deal with Arin's constant negativity, the guy really is a good role model. There is literally no reason to dislike him at all. Danny's life is just filled with a lot of positive influence, and I think that Arin needs that vibe. Clearly Jon wasn't helping him in that department.Pirez wrote:After all, it was Dan who said that everybody should be proud of what they do and encouraged them to take lessons on what they would like to do.
A lot of people do these animated skits for big channels, but none of them host it the way Game Grumps does. It's a good idea though, Arin seems very fair about it and offers good pay to the person who animated it, considering it's on GG's channel the person who made the animation should benefit greatly.Jewish Candy wrote:I wonder if we'll see gaming channels start to host animation in a big way, a bit like what Arin's trying to do with Game Grumps Animated slots.
