Ah, 01:00, not as late as yesterday, though <'s got to be careful, < doesn't sleep as well in warmer conditions, and warmer, it's getting.
Let's see if <'s going to fare better tonight, or if <'ll be grumpily heading to the bathroom to pour cold water on <'s face and feet.

Re: The You Game!
< got to see the panel which had Alex Hirsch.
< didn't get to meet him since < wasn't patient enough and the volunteers over there did not help whatsoever on telling Alex was gonna stay after outside the room and it also didn't help that they kicked everyone out.
< got a cool poster at least.
< made a new friend too!

Seeing Amb's alphabet makes < want to finish his High Cryssillian. < never got round to even finishing the script, though some words and grammatical structures already exist for the language.

Since the script is not finished, < doesn't have it written in its native form. Instead, have a version written phonetically with Roman characters:Jewish Candy wrote:Weird, isn't it? Re: The You Game!
Duhluhshush.
Nice! < wonders if ^^ could provide a gloss. "Come this or that or another thing, the Cryssilian people will endure" or something? < guesses that the 'nin' is a genitive of sorts in any case, considering the construction it's in. Has ^^ opted for an alphabetic script?Shrooblord wrote:Since the script is not finished, < doesn't have it written in its native form. Re: The You Game!
The script is not purely alphabetic per se, but it is sort of. It's more of a combination-styled script. While any Roman character will translate to a single Cryssillian glyph, multiple glyphs will combine into one to produce new combinations of letters or (especially) sounds. To give you a better idea of this, <'ll post a picture of what < has already. < won't detail the rules of combination... that's for you to puzzle away with - or cheat and await <'s dictionary!

As you can tell, it's a sort of ritual chant they utter to each other like two members of a group or union may have a common phrase for saying goodbye. Basically, Krik ta...ta fri can translate to something along the lines of "May you... on your journeys". 'Journey' may not necessarily mean a literal journey (though here it is); it can also be one's path through life.
So translated fully, Mindwave wishes Acrylos a journey without (much) danger, then adds an adage in which Acrylos is dubbed very important to the survival of life on Cryssil as they know it. Mindwave references an old mythological character Iunto, the patron of travellers but also he who caused life to spawn on Cryssil. Basically, Acrylos's journey will penultimately - such is the intention at least - lead to the survival of life on the planet, for right this moment, it is quite doomed.
Acrylos then returns a similarly formed wish to the honourable Mindwave. The CAVE wishes him a journey that, should it be guided, be guided with good will of the gods. Then Acrylos parts with a final good-bye to the gathering.
< loves creating worlds with their own languages and mythologies and people and customs, nature and wildlife... < really wants to get back to writing this book. But. The usual. Exams.

You ask for the meaning of this quote. <'ll post some surrounding Cryssillian from the same paragraph. The context is that one of the characters is leaving an assembly of others to go do something important yet very dangerous. The assembly's leader says this first phrase as a good-bye to that character, to which the character, then the assembly as a whole, then the character one last time respond; the full paragraph isKrik ta no'hun ta fri, Iunti nin Cryssil porfuti.
(note that certain names remain in English; call them translational artefacts from reading an account of what happened on another world in the language of ours... or call it a fourteen year-old Shrooblord's oversight[Mindwave continues:] "Good luck to you all and remember: Krik ta no'hun ta fri, Iunti nin Cryssil porfuti."
"Krik ta lo'fah ta fri, Chin-so'listu Mindwave," Acrylos replied.
"Krik ta far'tsin, tsin-profito Eagle-eye," the rest of the CAVE chanted.
"Krik ta lo'fah ta fri, giz-giz CAVE!" Acrylos replied.

< probably spent too much time getting back into <'s story's world. Time < should've spent getting more into Quantum Physics. Damn you, Candish! Why must you be so interested in my work!
[Really though thanks for asking. It was a great excuse to dig up all my old files and scribbles.]
