I'm not even comparing its minigames to pcAdsolution wrote:oooh, the PC version is shitting its pants right now.
Also what the heck is so unmemorable about this? Because this looks anything but forgettable.
I enjoyed this minigame way more than the Baby Globox run, but whatever man.

So I'm not allowed to reason my opinion why I personally enjoyed the minigames and why I disagree? Where did I state he was wrong? Where did I state he was incorrect? I'm totally fine if he doesn't like it but calling them "shit" is a little over exaggerated. That's an opinion, see? If someone tells me "this feature is shit", obviously I'm going to disagree and reason why. Of course they're minigames, it's not a big deal, but I personally just wanted to voice why I enjoyed them. We agree it's a minor feature but I personally enjoyed them and disagree with Ad that they're shit, and far from unmemorable. He can think its shit all he wants, but I don't agree. And what made me want to discuss further is when he brang up PC, as if I was using those minigames as ammo towards the DC version being better. Maybe the boon was overexagerrated in this case but really.CHRdutch wrote:*ahem* ever heard about opinions? :3
Just putting it out there I'm not comparing which version is superior, I'm only stating that I think the minigames were a nice additional feature.

Forget I brought it up... I'll be plugging my Dreamcast on in a bit. I wanna see Ad's beef with the lighting because I do not remember seeing this personally.
Re: Rayman 2
I prefer R2 minigames over R3 minigames any day.

Re: Rayman 2
I have to agree that the Dreamcast version is the superior version of The Great Escape.
Yeah, there's a handful of parts that are bothersome to play because of the dark shading engine, but it never truly effected my playthrough, and it made the colors more defined (Except when it was pitch black)
The Dreamcast version has so many tiny details in the environment, the texture quality is amazing, the framerate is a smooth 60fps with a slight motion blur (Really makes air particles or any fast animating object pop out), and it included that revision of the Isle of Doors, which I personally prefer.
It's also the most polished version, with almost no glitches or bugs that are commonly seen in other ports.
And the cherry on top: The Rayman 2 logo was 3D
The PS1 version is my personal 2nd favorite version, since it's a really well made PS1 game and is incredibly polished / animated for that system's standards. They also went the extra mile to add voice acting, and even though it wasn't really that good, it still gave the game a certain charm.
After that is a tie between the PC version and Revolution. I didn't especially like the PC version of Rayman 2 as much as the others because it didn't do anything special, it was just the N64 version but with better music and individual fingers (Which obviously is to be expected since it's one of the first versions of the game), and Revolution would've been my favorite version if it weren't so damn buggy. Also a PS2 game slightly better graphics than a Dreamcast game should not struggle at 30fps, especially since the PS2 version has worse texture quality than the Dreamcast version.
If they had remastered Rayman 2 Revolution on PS3/360 with 720p texture quality and 60fps and polished it, then it would probably be my favorite version of Rayman 2.

Re: Rayman 2
You give some nice insights, darkhair. I'd love to see Revolution done without the bugs and the framerate issues. It's nothing big, but it does take away from the overall experience at times.

I was bored at that time. Eh, it was a stupid argument, lol, I guess I need to be upset somewhere else.Adsolution wrote:You're certainly taking this discussion way more seriously than I am.
Back on the note of Rayman 2 though, I do like the DC version better for literally the EXACT same reasons Darkhairwarrior listed.
