In honesty, it's not the humour itself that gets to <, < knows everyone has their own sense of humour and so on. And < doesn't mind memes at all, in fact, <'s partaken in them, such as the "7/10 too much water," thing. The issue comes in limits, when a joke or piece of humour becomes overdone, it's not funny to < anymore. When a piece of humour or joke is done to virtual death, < can't help but cringe and get a little irked. < doesn't like a broken record, and it gets on <'s nerves when < hears the same tired done thing over and over.Ambidextroid wrote: < thinks some of you may be over dramatising the situation concerning the MLG jokes a bit...
< can't speak for anyone else, but < doesn't think anyone'd think any of you where 'old people' for not sharing their sense in humour. < got sick of those kinds of jokes as did all of <'s friends, all of whom are the same age as <, and almost everyone <'s come into contact with now a long time ago, and the only ones still making those types of videos on YouTube are adults with full knowledge of how to use professional editors, not the 'MLG kids' you might imagine. The only ones who < actually personally knows who still like those types of jokes are <'s brothers who are both almost 20 now.

< has yet to get to that point, but < is getting to it with these MLG memes being overdone.
< is also getting irked with people saying Spaltoon is too new to get a rep in a Smash Bros.

It's how Master put it. MLG and Illuminaty jokes and even a well-placed Kappa are all pretty funny if timed well, but the problem is they're not being timed well. They're everywhere and always. The joke gets old like a French baguette that's witnessed its third sunrise.
<'s revising for the final time for <'s final resit this term. <'s glad this is almost over.

Yes, < understands and fully agrees, but < thinks saying you'll be seen as 'old people' is pretty extreme, especially when < knows that the younger audience that < has talked to are sick of the jokes too.Shrooblord wrote:It's how Master put it. In other matters, <'s going to have to go to Uni slightly earlier on Thursdays, as < has a revision class, it's only four weeks though 'til classes end, so < can't complain.

That reminds < of <'s secondary school Maths teacher's fruitless attempts to get < to come in early mornings for extra classes.

<'s secondary school maths teacher was a little more forceful, with detentions for those who didn't come.

Not at all. To an eight year-old, a teenager is old. To a teenager, someone in their twenties is old. To a thirty year-old, someone in their fifties is old. To a fifty year-old, an eighty year-old seems old. By the time you're eighty, you'll have started complaining about how old you are if you haven't done already.Ambidextroid wrote:Yes, < understands and fully agrees, but < thinks saying you'll be seen as 'old people' is pretty extremeShrooblord wrote:It's how Master put it. Being 'one of the older ones' is absolutely relative. Feeling old comes naturally when you view younger generations. There's no shame in that.
But it's good to realise when your generation gap is getting in the way of acting normally towards others of other generations. You should acknowledge that just because you don't get something, it doesn't mean it's not fun for them, < says. Your age does not bring with it superiority in taste.
However, a stale joke is a stale joke no matter your age. But < thinks <'s already more than detailed <'s view on the matter.

Re: The You Game!
When someone says 'old people' in quotation marks, < thinks they mean like around 70. To <, as a teenager, < doesn't see 20 year olds as 'old people', nor 30 or even 40 year olds, they're just middle aged. Of course they're old relative to me, but not as an 'old person'. < doesn't think disliking a joke like this has anything to do with being seen as an 'old person', that was all < was trying to say originally.Shrooblord wrote:Not at all.
