I've grown up adoring the Nintendo 64 version for a long time so I feel kinda outnumbered, y'know? Now that I think about it, I really wanna try Revolution.

Don't be so afraid of that Harpic. It's fine
I got my hands on a PS2 unit recently but didn't have the time to even install it then. I'm looking forward to finally plugging it in and binging some Revolution straight after!

That's a long time that I don't played Rayman Revolution in a real PS2.. I played this game in an emulator for taking screenshots to upload them on the RayWiki. ^^'Shrooblord wrote:I got my hands on a PS2 unit recently but didn't have the time to even install it then. I got my hands on a copy of Revolution as it was about to be thrown out with the trash and then three months later I got my PS2. It was fun storing as a collectible, but now it's time to play that baby!

Heh, I did the same thing when I decided to get a Wii. Collected 2 games months before I bought the actual console itself, so I wouldn't have to look for them later on, I can just play them instantly when the time comes.Shrooblord wrote:I got my hands on a copy of Revolution as it was about to be thrown out with the trash and then three months later I got my PS2. If you've got a powerful computer you can emulate it!GrandKittymus wrote:I would get it immediately...If I actually had a playstation 2.

Re: Rayman 2
You do not need a powerful computer to emulate a system that runs on a 300 MHz CPU with 32 MB of RAM/VRAM.

Well, I guess what is deemed as powerful varies by the onlooker.

Re: Rayman 2
Welp, Toshiba Windows 8.1. Does that sound decent enough to run it? But holy cow, I think it was like five years after I played the N64 version I found out they made so many remakes of that game. (That's when I also realized at least two of the remakes fully voiced the game which surprised me immediately since I'm always curious about how certain characters may sound like.)

Re: Rayman 2
Ehh, you've only stated a manufacturer and OS. You'll need to share stuff like RAM, GPU, CPU etc.
Mine runs RR pretty well, I'm sure systems with lower specifications would run it fine, but if anyone wants some point of reference:
Lenovo Z50-70
i7 4510U
8 GB RAM
GT 840M

Re: Rayman 2
Indeed, the whole lagging thing is actually caused by the emulator itself. I tried on i7-4790@4,7GHz - GTX750Ti - 16GB DDR3 1886 - SSD, and it ran with the same lags and slowdowns as on my personal laptop with i7-3840qm@3,80GHz - GTX660m - 16GB DDR3 1600 - 2xHDD 7200rpm RAIDAdsolution wrote:You do not neee a powerful computer to emulate a system that runs on a 300 MHz CPU with 32 MB of RAM/VRAM.
