Re: Official Nintendo Topic
200cc might have been a bad idea in itself. I've been playing the new tracks with a friend on 200cc and it felt awesome but also nerve-wacking as we both felt like noobs again. That, in itself, is fine, but afterwards we played on the same tracks in 150cc and it felt slower than a grandma with only one leg trying to cross a street.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
It doesn't seem like a bad idea, actually quite fun, though I've yet to unlock it. It's sadly... as close to a new F-Zero as we'll get for now.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
I still think it's a good idea, but what I'm saying is : it's way too weird to feel that you're racing at snail-pace speed before realising you're on 150cc. So yeah, I misspoke when I said it's a bad idea. There were just some unforeseen consequences.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Wait, I'm confused... She wants to debunk the loading time of the New 3DS... by comparing two regular 3DS together? The New 3DS is the console with SNES-colored buttons and a 2nd analog stick right? None of these two console is a New 3DS.
Or I may be missing the point.
Or I may be missing the point.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
It was advertised that New 3DS has faster loading times on Smash Bros due to New 3DS power while old 3DS has slow time. But actually, game cartridge is on purpose programmed to load slower on old 3DS. After she hacked ROM of the game, she loaded on one 3DS a hacked ROM and on another 3DS nonhacked ROM. The result is that old 3DS is capable of running game at same speed as New 3DS if ROM is hacked so it is not weak hardware that is making game slower but just how game was programmed for the purpose of advertising New 3DS as faster console.

But... she only showed the menu? How do you know the game itself is functioning properly after this "fast" loading time?

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Not to mention, as we've seen, things these days can be pretty easy to fake with the right tools and know-how. This could be an interesting thing to look through, but I'd want some more explanation and insight given for this, given how this is a pretty serious thing in itself.

She is a trusted member of community and she actually has a status of developer for eShop. She is not some random user online.Imco wrote:But... she only showed the menu? How do you know the game itself is functioning properly after this "fast" loading time?

And nothing strikes you there? I've played hacks of Super Mario World with Megaman in it. You can do pretty much anything if you're a haxXed ProgR4mmOrz with maAaaad SkillZ.OldClassicGamer wrote:if ROM is hacked
I'd value the scientific finding of this lad "questionable at best".
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
You do realize that hacks cannot make games play faster if hardware is issue. Sure, let's hack GTA 5 and play it full speed on 2008 Processor.
What she did was just changing how something was coded in the game to disable restriction of using full game capability on old 3DS. Game was programmed on this way on purpose to advertise New 3DS as a stronger system than it is.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
So? As Master and Imco have stated, we only see the menu load. Removing that part of the code may induce a bug in the game beside the title screen. And yet you're excuse for that seem to be :
Now I'd like to see your double standards at work, i.e. when Nintendo doesn't show something, it's an insult to their fans, but if a hacking whistleblowing programmer doesn't show all the implications of his/her work, we must marvel at his/her feat and never question anything.OldClassicGamer wrote:She is a trusted member of community and she actually has a status of developer for eShop. Re: Official Nintendo Topic
And it may not. The main point was that Nintendo programmed game on purpose not to load fast like on New 3DS. I am not expert in programming but I am pretty sure that if some code was on purpose blocking game to load on normal speed and if it was removed so it loads same speed that it does not create bugs in the game itslef. Give me one reason why should I assume that after code was removed that it glitches game pass loading screen. If you have any doubts yourself, you can ask uploader to showcase more. I myself won't since I have 0 doubts because it makes no sense that whole game would be affected by this.Pirez wrote:So? As Master and Imco have stated, we only see the menu load. Who cares about fucking specs!? Nerds! That's who!
Anyways here's something way interesting, Sakurai teased that not only characters are gonna be DLC, but maybe modes/features too!?

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Well... it would be nice to have more stages actually, kind of sucks that most of the stages were simply reused from Brawl and Melee.
Also can we have a story mode? I know Subspace emissary on Brawl was a bit meh, but I think he should give something like it another chance.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Just look at a TAS of any game ever, when you fuck with RAM and loading speed, glitches occur. Also remember that one fellow who had a "crappy broken copy of Smash". Yeah, the guy with that game :OldClassicGamer wrote:Give me one reason why should I assume that after code was removed that it glitches game pass loading screen.
Now imagine it has something to do with the match forcing to load at a certain speed, but the RAM cannot keep up and the textures are not loaded properly. Not saying it's the reason it happened (in fact I'm sure it isn't because that glitch happened on the WiiU version), but I sure feel that could happen if you fuck with memory speed.
I won't either because I don't give a shit. What I do give a shit about is that this lad is presenting us a questionable conclusion. Every conclusion is questionable (at best) if part of the reveal process is hidden. It's science 101. It's what I learnt the hard way in school when a project of mine was debunked because there's a hypothetical scenario I didn't consider.OldClassicGamer wrote:If you have any doubts yourself, you can ask uploader to showcase more. But what I give the most shit about is that you seem to place this fellow on a pedestal for something so trivial, and yet you seem to be willing to die for something as worthless as a loading time on a console, without having full knowledge on the situation. I like good causes (even though I'd argue this one isn't, but oh well...), but here, the best analogy I can come up with is : "Hey, the speed is limited at 50km/h on this bridge. If you jump from it into the river, you'll cross faster." Come on...

Never forget.

Anyway, it's apparently the case that Splatoon is being largely developed by the team behind Animal Crossing. I don't know if they can get someone else to do the job, but I'm really hoping this doesn't imply that the Wii U title is gonna have to wait another year, the Mario Kart DLC is really getting my excited to see the game in HD.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Splatoon is getting a lot of love from Nintendo since they're having an event called Mess Fest on Firday, May 15th at the Santa Monica Pier. It'll have celebrities competing in an Splatoon themed obstacle course. Then it let the public play Splatoon. Sounds totally radical to me.
Also there's a "supposed" leak about when Lucas arrives to Smash, Mother 3 will be included in the Masterpieces section.

Personally, I'm not buying this rumor.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Mother 3 isn't even available in America so I doubt it.
This saddens me greatly: http://www.engadget.com/2015/04/24/supe ... ndo-wii-u/
I don't usually care too much for VC, but the SNES VC lacked a LOT of games, to see it go under so fast is REALLY disappointing. I won't be surprised if people try to do the 'ol homebrew method like they did on Wii for there classic SNES needs.
No Final Fantasy II or III, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Turtles in Time, and Super Castlevania among millions of other great SNES classics. This disappoints me because the SNES is my favorite Nintendo console of all time, to see it go under so quickly on the Wii U really is sad.
