Rayman Gold crashed Rayman Designer

I have had Rayman Forever (gog version) on my computer for a very long time and now I recently bought Rayman Gold. I finally got it working on my computer using Dosbox, but then when I checked back at Rayman Designer (in Rayman Forever) all my progress was lost and the sound effects were missing. Whenever I save something (like change the settings) it doesn't get saved, which makes me think it's not finding the save files for some reason. Also, whenever I try playing a map I have made the game just crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this? In the worst case I can reinstall the game and remove Rayman Gold from my computer, but in that case I wonder if there is any chance to recover my lost progress in Rayman Designer? Does anyone know where the save files are saved for Rayman Designer?

Rayman Designer / Gold / Forever / Collector saves are .SCT files located under the PCMAP subdirectory in the game directory.

What you describe is very bizarre. Unless you for some reason installed Rayman Gold into the same directory as your existing GoG version installation, I don't see how one could have hurt the other.

I looked under PCMAP and I didn't find any .SCT files. The only files I found were .DAT .LEV and .WLD

And no, I did not install them into the same directory.

That would explain why your progress is gone. I still have no idea how installing Rayman Gold via DOSBox could have altered anything your GoG version, though.

Just in case - look for the .SCT files in other directories as well, in case the GoG version keeps them somewhere else (Perhaps it has been modified compared to the original DOS release, I don't know).

I searched for it and didn't find any .SCT files. But shouldn't it just create a new file when I save something in the game? And why can't I hear the sound effects? Guess I will just have to reinstall it soon and see if that helps...

I played through the first level and now I have a .SCT file and that progress is saved. Still no sound effects and can still not play my maps...

There should be a Setsound application in the game directory.

As for custom maps, I have no idea...

I reinstalled it and removed Rayman Gold and it seems to work fine now. The old maps still don't work, but whenever I create a new one they work fine.
