Re: Rayman merchandise
Like I say, you can get it to work with PS2, but not emulators. Considering my PS2 is broken, this means I can not play it.DandyGuy wrote:Try this. Here you go: https://mega.co.nz/#!DYABCTgK!uJtJY4jcN ... zXg8IMz1I8
I tested it with PCSX2 and it works just fine.
Also interesting to note, that Murfy got a totally different voice actor... not in the good way.
I've also record some footage of the prototype, but you can play it for yourself with an emulator.

That murphy voice though xD

Re: Rayman merchandise
I noticed that the indoors section of the tower in TLotLD is unable to be accessed. I'm going to try to either glitch or hack my way back up so we can see if anything is different.
EDIT: Globox spawned like normally for me and blew the bubbles, which were all attached to the wall rather than being all over the place. Things started going strange when I got to the crazy shoe section. I got the crazy shoe with the heavy metal fist powerup, and Rayman was still wearing it in the crazy shoe. The shoe I was riding in was red, like his outfit, but the other shoe was still yellow. When I first entered the shoe, the game over music played, and then whenever I collected a red lum an empty health bar appeared and beeps played. At the end of the section I got a game over. After that I respawned but the hoodlums that would have closed the gate were gone, leaving me free to go through it. Strangely no dialog appeared allowing me to just walk off the exit of the level and fall into oblivion.

Huh..that text in 0:48 looks very suspicious...
ENGINE 27/08/02..ENGINE AND EDITORS 27/08/02
Even more proof Rayman 3's engine is R2's?

Re: Rayman merchandise
@Ribshark That's actually pretty creepy

I believe this is the cutscene where Rayman gets his grimace.
(notice the R2 mode with the scarf)

Re: Rayman merchandise
I saw that to. Im not sure 100% because I think Rayman 3 used the Renderware engine?Hoozang wrote:Huh..that text in 0:48 looks very suspicious...

Re: Rayman merchandise
Hmm, I'm not entirely sure how this leads one to conclude any relation to R2. I do believe in the R3 engine being an upgraded R2, but I don't see the relation from that line of text. From what I can tell, it's just simply a build date.
Re: Rayman merchandise
Yeah, it's a build date. Rayman 3's engine is heavily based of the engine from M/Arena. Whether or not that engine is based off Rayman 2 is up for debate.
Re: Rayman merchandise
I can't find the Rayman PAX Pin for sale no more.

Re: Rayman merchandise
@Omar Thanks a lot for the ISO, I was about to say before to Dandy that folders themselves wouldn't work in the emulator.
I will also create a video for my channel while crediting DandyGuy's sharing, but I will only do that next week since things will calm down a bit.

Re: Rayman merchandise
That's actually my guess, that it used a slightly modified engine version of Rayman M.RibShark wrote:Rayman 3's engine is heavily based of the engine from M/Arena.
Re: Rayman merchandise
@Haruka Many thanks
Also In the Rayman 3 In the making its stated that production for Rayman 3 started directly after the release of Rayman 2. Or maybe production started in the Rayman 2 engine but moved onto a more advance one?
Re: Rayman merchandise
Remember that programming is only a small part of game design. It likely started with concepts similar to the discontinued Rayman 4 with each level being discussed and drawn. There's a lot to making a game outside of programming, especially in a big company like Ubisoft.DandyGuy wrote:In the Rayman 3 In the making its stated that production for Rayman 3 started directly after the release of Rayman 2. Like the art design?
Re: Rayman merchandise
Sorry for the double posting but I would like to show what arrived to me by the hands of the postman:

I wasn't initially interested in getting the japanese port but a very good deal was purposed to me a few months back and I ended buying it. I watched the Intro and played Pink Plant Woods and aside obvious changes like Magician speaking japanese and the menu interaction being slightly different (and Rayman's fist is oddly refered as "Weapon" in the button options) it doesn't seem to exist graphical differences. The only significant difference I could notice were the sound effects in which they are completely different when compared to the Western ports. Sadly some of those sounds are awful in my opinion.
I also got the Platinum edition of R2TGE for PS1 but from the region of Germany/France, so the game voices and texts are in those languages. The disc was an early birthday gift from OCG, thank you!
