Of course, many will disagree, but the only way to stop this being the future of Rayman is to not even bother downloading the app. The fewer people download it, the more likely it is for Ubisoft to switch back to console. Even if this is released on Android, I will not be downloading it because of this.
It's free to play, so it might be a little hard to resist checking it out.
Simina-Cindy wrote:To be honest, when I saw the trailer, I couldn't have cared less, which is totally unusual for me. Every time a new Rayman game came out I got super excited, but not this time. And sure, maybe they have something bigger planned, but...This game just looks like a copy-paste of Legends. At least Jungle and Fiesta had some extra things from the main games, but everything in this trailer just looked like it was right out of Legends. I should also address the fact that it's becoming more like Barbara Legends and Barbara Adventures instead of Rayman. :/ Barbara is an ok character and all, but I always thought she was a bit unfitting to the Rayman world, but now it's becoming even worse. It's more like Rayman is in a different world. Why don't they just separate the franchises like they did with Rabbids? They can do all this barbarian stuff with Barbara as the main character instead and focus on more fantasy stuff with Rayman again. All in all, Rayman Adventures just looks meh...I don't hate it, but it really doesn't look interesting. Legends was already kinda meh to begin with (I still really like it, but it was a bit disappointing), so a spin-off of it that looks like it has even less to offer is pretty damn disappointing.

Also, this doesn't affect the game, but Rayman's model in the trailer looks kinda like trash (and wtf is up with his outfit?)
I agree with pretty much everything you said. It doesn't feel like Rayman's world anymore; the game might as well take place on earth. The magic is just gone.

Yeah, I don't think not getting the game will help. All we can really do is just hope, since Michel and his team seem to be completely detached from the fans.

Desert filled with musical instruments? That def belongs on Earth.
Glaciers filled with cocktails and an assortment of frozen fruits and treats? Lovely vacation spot near the Equator.
City filled with delicious dessert and has citizens of Sugar Skeletons? Oh, wait that's Mexico.

New Glade = Earth

First of all, the first two aren't even in Legends, they're in Origins. Second of all, nobody ever said "New Glade = Earth". We're just saying that Legends has loads of non-fantasy looking places and a lot of barbarian related stuff, and it looks like Adventures is even more filled with that. You can't deny that Rayman isn't nearly as mystical as it used to be. Think of how awesome the world looked in Rayman 2, Rayman 3 and even Arena. Now it's more like "Forest World", "Water World", "Ice World", "Cake World" and so on, and like I said before, loads of barbarian themed stuff. There's a damn Greek wannabe chapter for god's sake.

You're telling the wrong guy about how "magical" Rayman 2's world is. Rayman 2's Glade is as magical as the Behind the Scenes of Disney Imagineering.

What point are you even trying to make?

Whatever, whether or not you think Rayman 2 wasn't magical enough or whatever, Rayman Legends and Adventures are both full of Valhalla crap and it just doesn't work with Rayman.

Rayman 2 is easily the Worst Glade for me. You're telling a place called the Glade of Dreams consists of nothing but green grass plains, with occasional visit to a temple or a beach? Wow! "Magical".

Oh I'm REALLY not fond of Rayman 2. :)

It's still more magical than giant cakes and barbarian shit, that's for sure. You're also forgetting all the temples with magical masks and such. And fine, you don't like Rayman 2, but 3 is so much better than these new games. Don't you think everyone would be happier if they just separated the franchises? This way, the Barbara fans would still get their Valhalla themed world and they can play as Barbara and all her many sisters, and the Rayman fans would get their fantasy world back and hopefully 3D, third person platforming. And with today's technology, I'm sure they could make a beautiful 3D Glade. :D Rayman 3 already looked stunning, so I imagine they could do some amazing things today.

If there's one thing I don't want to see happen is separating the series. No way in hell.

R1, 2 and 3 definitely had more surreal-looking scenery than RO and RL. The new games do still keep some of the surreal charm, but aren't really taking full advantage of it. That's why the worlds don't feel as "Raymanish" to me and more of the typical kind of stuff you'd see in a fantasy setting.

Yep, exactly. RO and RL have a few tiny aspects that hint at what Rayman used to be, but it's mostly just kind of random. Like, every chapter needs to have some sort of theme.

I don't know where your argument is going, but R1 was like that and it was perfectly okay IMO.

Every level in Mario Galaxy has a theme, as such it is not as good as the brown block levels from Super Mario Bros.

1) Pointless. Super Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros. are entirely different games but they're still under the main series. Why can't that apply to Rayman too?

2) It's inevitable that if you did separate the series, you're going to have high nosed fans dissing the existence of the UbiArt games as not real Rayman games, which they are.

Rayman 1, Origins, Legends have all hits of surrealism. Can't say for 3 because I have still not played it. Rayman 2's surrealism never made me believe this was a far away place. It seemed "normal".
