Re: Rayman himself
Is Ancel counting the hair?
Re: Rayman himself
God damn metric system. >:^(
Re: Rayman himself
Metric > Imperial
Re: Rayman himself
Height is the only part of the imperial system I kinda understand, Rayman's 5'3 right?

I don't discriminate against any measurement system. I see no difference. Peace and love and math, man.

Re: Rayman himself
I was the one asking for Rayman's height in the livestream, it was around 1,60 i think and Globox was 2 meters, he also mentioned the Teensies were very small

Re: Rayman himself
That forum looks really good tho, this forum should change to a happier, more Rayman styled one too even though its called ''pirate community''
Re: Rayman himself
Or we could just gather izipower, GotG and theworstman and send them there. Guaranteed results.
Re: Rayman himself
The design looks pretty bad tbh, white boxes over a Legends wallpaper.
RPC's look has just kinda become part of the place, I think. RPC changed looks twice but overall it's always kept a dark colour palette. Maybe it's because I've been here for a few years now, but I think it makes it look a bit more homely? A lot of Php forums look really bland, RPC is probably the best I've seen. Though if ever were to do a complete redesign I'd be up for it, but I'm not sure how much freedom you really have with Php.

Re: Rayman himself
I think RPC is looking KISS, i like that design, it is minimalistic.

Sure thing.Pirez wrote:Or we could just gather izipower, GotG and theworstman and send them there. Guaranteed results.

Re: Rayman himself
Apparently, Michel Ancel has designed a level for Mario Maker that will be in the final game. It is named "Pac-Man".
Re: Rayman himself
Yep, and the evidence is here:
My first thought was "But Mr. Ancel, I thought you said before that Mario wasn't your cup of tea!
". It is an interesting interview, his favourite Mario is Super Mario Land.

Re: Rayman himself
Recently I had the chance to meet some Indie devs from Montpellier who know a lot of persons at Ubisoft Montpellier. Some of them worked on Rayman Origins and Legends. So I had to ask them a few things about the development.
- RO was designed on the fly. So first there was a lot of exploration in the game but at some point the gamedesigners looked at super meat boy etc. and decided that everything have to have a super flow feeling. Later they recognized that they overdid this.
- In RO there was some tutorial thingy planned: The Bubble Dreamer should teach the Rayman some skills like how he keeps balance on a stick. But it was cut and included in RL in some way (the dojo).
- In RO and RL are NOT very hidden bonus stages no one ever found (I thought maybe there is something like in R2).
- The Writer of RO was kind of very frustrated that the story got cut, because she put on alot of work on this. Most developers also didn't know what the story was and where like "WTF is going on in this game".
- Jungle Run and Fiesta Run made good revenue but were still too expensive in the development (related to the revenue).
- When I mentioned that there is a Rayman community, he was surprised and he thinks Rayman is a kind of a niche. He was also surprised that some of you could open the game files of RO to get to know the story. He said something like they protected the files like twice (I am not sure about this).
- The staff from the Ubisoft Villa was merged again to the normal studio in Montpellier. Most projects were too expensive related to the revenue so they have to work on the big brands like AC, The Division, and so on. (For me this sounded like creativity is dieing again at Ubisoft Montpellier for some time, so I didn't ask if they know about a new 3D Rayman. )
Anyway, I will stay in contact with these people and might asked them a few more things via mail soon. Any suggestions? (I woun't ask them silly stuff like what happened to Globox children etc.).

Re: Rayman himself
Wow, those are very interesting stuff, thanks a lot for sharing those informations!
I can understand why Gabrielle Shragger got frustrated. A question that many of us were doing in the end was concerning what she did in the game afterall.
