Yeah I've been a bit absent from the forum lately. Should be coming back after next week - birthday party tomorrow and exams next week, but afterwards, holidays!
Too bad, RibShark! Sad to see you leave.
There are still stragglers. Your warning PMs have been dispatched.

Sort of yes. There may be some drop-outs before we start, which saddens me. But I'll keep a close eye on my PM inbox the next few days.

I really, really, really didn't want to do this, but I'm afraid I'm one of those drop-outs. I'm just really, really busy with moving out, finding a student home, taking care of pre-uni stuff and this time consuming game is something I can't use right now. Maybe if it'd started earlier... I don't know. I'm sorry to disappoint.

Even now I've been absent again. But truth be told, I haven't heard back from some people I need to hear back from to be able to start this game. I'll need to find another solution if they end up not responding for another week or so.

Not to sound like a downer, and I know you've put a lot of work in, but perhaps it might be best to start from scratch, given the shift the community's had since this was started.

Re: Quester RPG: [Season 1 - Shrooblord] (PREGAME)
I'm probably gonna have to agree with you. Sadly, there were a lot of plot twists and backstabbings afoot what with all the specifics of the characters involved - and also the shop interactions were pretty hefty for me to write out. But - a fresh start does sound more appealing than a start with us missing some very important characters.
Okay. I'll look into it when I get back from my holiday this weekend and the days following.

Re: Quester RPG: [Season ? - ???] New Director?
Hey all.
I guess it's safe to assume I'm not working on this anymore. Sorry about that. I did have a *lot* of fun setting everything up. Too bad it never kicked off.
I'm hoping someone would still like to run this. Perhaps under new management, you can all play a fun game together! I have a lot of set-up template PMs that get sent out to participants and a Google Docs document to keep track of everything you need to keep track of during the game. If anyone feels like taking on the role of Director and pushing this forwards, please throw a PM my way and I'll make sure you get all I have prepared for my own directing.
Anyway. Hope you had fun for as long as it lasted. Sorry about the fizzle death.

Re: Quester RPG: <<REWORK IN PROGRESS>>
... and surprise revival?
It's been a long time. I miss coming here. And I've missed giving you all a great game to play when you were all so excited.
Time to fix things.
I would like to know who is still interested in a game like this. We'll start anew (with the same story though: we gotta beat that damn wizard Prol (or was it that we were going to overthrow the Queen...?)!) with a new cast of dandies and probably I'll extend the signup period to longer than last game's, since there were some people who came late and wanted in, and also because that'll give me more time to finalise preparations.
But... then people would have to want to join...! So I'd like to know if there's still animo for a game like this in the forum. Please leave a reply and tell me whatcha think!

I'm all game, but I must ask with utmost respect, will you be able to host? I know you tend to be rather busy these days, and I'd rather you not be encumbered with this if you've got important tasks to be done.

I must agree with Master, look what did happen the last time. Or did you suddenly become free for a spell?Master wrote:I'm all game, but I must ask with utmost respect, will you be able to host? Re: Quester RPG: <<REWORK IN PROGRESS>>
Absolutely; if you want to play the character you'd prepared for last time, you can play that character. But if any of you want to start anew from scratch with their character, that is also possible.CHRdutch wrote:As long as I can keep being dog food, I'm in!
Yes. Thing is, I'm always busy. But it's more a matter of dividing my time towards the things I want to do most. And I've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now, and I made up my mind yesterday.Hoodcom wrote:I must agree with Master, look what did happen the last time. Besides, in part what happened last time, is that people were not responding, so I found myself in a strange position of wanting to wait for everyone so they could all join in (since they'd seemed so enthusiastic at sign-up) and wanting to move on (for the people who were waiting) and kinda got caught in indecisiveness there.
That was a mistake; this time, I'll set a hard limit on time between replies and keep to my deadlines: if you miss something, you're out of the game. Not because I want to be mean or rude or anything like that, but because I feel it's necessary to keep the pace of the game up and not drag the rest of the players down in one person's inactivity.
If you take a look at how the RPC Mafia game is played, you can see an example of how I'd like to organise things. I like that format a lot; it has daily updates, and, if you fail to perform the necessary actions required to play, you'll be killed off, simple as that.
----
I understand your concern. This is also why I want to extend the sign-up period for this reboot by another two weeks to a total of one month; it allows me ample time to work out the gritty details of some parts of the game that still needed fleshing out, helps me to get into the routine of it without cramping the time I need for other matters, and gives users who were sad to have missed the sign-up round the first time, the chance to catch wind of this and jump aboard this time.
----
But good! Let's push it on, then:
The sign-up period has been opened! You have until Sunday the 5th of March to comply. Any entries after that time will be rejected.
----
I will enroll
- Master
- Ambidextroid
- CHRdutch
CHRdutch has confirmed to want to play with his old character. I will add Dog Food to the roster.
Hoodcom, are you content with this statement? Do you also wish to join?

Re: Quester RPG: SEASON 1 REBOOT - [SIGN UP NOW!]
Just one thing, how much participation is there each day? Mafia is relatively easy to handle even if you're busy as you can stay in the game as long as you do at least one thing each day.
I have school so I'll only be able to participate outside of school hours, so how does it work? I don't want to sign up just to bog everyone down because of timing conflicts

Re: Quester RPG: SEASON 1 REBOOT - [SIGN UP NOW!]
Fortunately for myself, I just posted something about that in the rules post, so I don't have to write a complicated reply concerning it, but can just say "hey look at the rules post under [[Rounds]] and [[Inactivity/Pass Turn]]"
But TL;DR:
But TL;DR:
- There will be one round per day as a minimum;
- Each round consists of everyone performing one turn;
- There will be more rounds in a day if everyone responds before the time limit of one day expires and the Director is online to see it;
- The round will never move forwards faster than once per day if not everyone has responded yet, unless they've stated through PM to the Director that they'd like to skip the turn and let the round move on without their participation;
- The round will never move forwards slower than once per day, period.

Content, yes. However, as much as I would like to go for it, using Reese... I'm afraid I may not be able to stay committed like I'd want and need to be. So it's best I don't participate.Shrooblord wrote:Hoodcom, are you content with this statement? Do you also wish to join?
Thank you though for asking, and I do wish others to have some serious fun with it. I'll probably read the thread and see how things go. Maybe secretly cheer folks on?

Re: Quester RPG: SEASON 1 REBOOT - [SIGN UP NOW!]
Ambidextroid, I will now roll stats for your character!
Ambs, I'll need you to give your character a name, and maybe you can write him a tiny backstory also (just a paragraph or so, if you want).
Master, do you wish to play as your old character, or should I devise a new one for you?
Ambi, you are an individual with slightly above average wits, but with the gift of long life; your health is your most advantageous trait and it is good. Let me tell you, it is godly. Anyway, you'd better not be at the front of the line even in your good health, because you can't take hits at all. But a strongman are you, indeed, lifting things twice your weight without breaking a sweat. Although you're not amazing at interacting with people (though not terrible either), you have a quite a dashing appearance, and you can talk your way out of trouble, too. Your fingers are incredibly nimble and agile, but you are not well-versed in the magicks arts at all, nor are you good at hiding your presence. You're sluggish, too. Like, real sluggish. Shrooblord-level sluggish. And that's saying something.(Ambidextroid), ??? wrote:Name: ???, ???
