Maybe? It honestly depends on many things.

It's not an area I've been drawn to for a while, but I do like seeing classical and obscure items.

I've been thinking about it for a while. Honestly, there are a lot of overlooked games that are just amazing.

Checkers, or Draughts, right? Othello/Reversi is another one I remember.

Actually checkers and draughts have a slight rule difference which completely screws up game theories about both. Checkers were broken already by computers, draughts are in the chess territory.

If anyone is into strategy games and also japanese culture I highly recommend Haru Ichiban.

I bought it a while ago and I have to say, the esthetics is absolutely amazing and the strategy part is very intense.

My collection is quite small so my list of favourite games will be almost identical to the list of games I own, but anyway:

Castles of Burgundy for strategy, especially 2-player
Ticket to Ride: Europe for something lighter and 3-5 players
Codenames for a party word game

I liked Dominion also but the base set got repetitive fast, and I can't find the expansions here. Same reason I haven't tried Pandemic Legacy yet, no stores are selling it despite it being the #1 game on BGG...

I like the original monopoly, I'm not really a fan of other "monopoly rip-off games".
I Also like "SpellDown" which is a game similar to Scrabble but I like Scrabble better.

My brother has huge board game parties every week, and I've tried joining in on so many occasions but I just don't really feel it. Not that I don't have fun sometimes, but the fact that, in my mind, I'm waiting for it to be over isn't a good sign. I used to be obsessed with board games, but they really take a lot of time and dedication.

I love standard card games (pusoy dos, poker, etc) though, and I play them regularly with friends.

Haven't played a table top games in a while, though. I was playing card games more than playing board games the days of playing them with my family when I was younger were fun. I played card games a lot with my friends too.

Ah, these bring back memories. As a kid I once had this game disc that had all these random board games (chess, checkers, snakes and ladders, reversi) and card games that I would play (usually against a computer) all the time. At least until it broke (RIP....whatever the name of that disc was)

We always have at least ONE card game every time there's a party at my house (always random, so I don't remember which card games are a regular thing). No idea why, but it's a lot of fun!

Monopoly always took forever and ended with blatant stealing of others' money and properties back when I used to play it.

I remember playing it on holiday one day and someone tried to cheat by pretending the dice landed on a different number.

Ah, you have to be sneakier than that. Everyone always looks at the dice, but you might be able to distract others while moving your player piece... :hehe:

I think I recall him also doing that and moving an extra time to avoid paying, but getting caught too.

As a kid I loved playing Snakes n Ladders. Out of all the board games I played, it was my favorite. I had a CD that had this game, among others and the computer was fun to play against. I'd have fun playing with family today if we could.
