Because it was made by Hunch no?

Also Drol I agree a lot with what you said, but I wish you the best of luck too!

Well Hunch, Harpic and Eren are the biggest contributors of these kinda posts, but the one that peeved me the most was OCG's one during the argument with Tamaki

If you're suggesting that Hunch started "thank mr skeltal", you are mistaken: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/skull-trumpet.

That's where I cringed so bad. Why would you say that during a serious disagreement?

It was funny because they had some effort put into them, now it's just Family Guy Cutaway level jokes. That's the best way I can describe it.

I've never played any of the TY titles but I hear series gets kind of mediocre at 2, I'm really interested in the first one though.

Oh nice I forgot that existed. I haven't played much of Ty either but I'm always interested in platformers so I'll try this eventually.
I wonder how fans would react if Crash and Spyro came back as 2D platformers..

the series is basically australlian Banjo-Kazooie, and the first is really good. ty 2 is ok, but since its more about helping out the townspeople than adventuring, it gets repetitive quick, and the 3rd is somewhere between 1 and 2 in quality, but still really fun to play. I recommend playing the first if you can find a copy anywhere.

I heard of Ty but is it any good?

I remember to have played some years ago an obscure platformer named Kao The Kangaroo. I never finished it though but I felt the game was quite slow-paced. There's also a sequel that I also tried out (but never finished either) and it is quite improved in every level I would say.

Considering that it seems to be a trend for forgotten characters to return in 2D, I would not be surprised if this happens to Crash and Spyro at one point and I would like it if games are done good.

I played both Ty and Kao and Ty trilogy is way better than Kao trilogy in every way (not to mention that Kao 3 was Poland exclusive). There is rumor that Ty 1-3 will be released on Steam and some evidence was shown on Ty official facebook page so I really think you should get Ty 1 at least if thats true and if not, get used PS2 copy for cheap. I promise you will love characters, humor and gameplay ;)

In my opinion Ty 1 is on par with Banjo-Kazooie and a bit better than Mario's Sunshine and Galaxy in terms of its collectathon genre. The game is usually pretty straightforward, but some of the collectables require backtracking or a lot of patience.
The overall presentation isn't shoddy either, with the world variety managing to stay generally fresh and ripe for exploring; and Ty's allies, weapons, and enemies all managing to remain memorable and interesting. That being said its far from perfect, the water worlds are ridiculously easy to get lost in, most bosses rely on a gimmick exclusive to their stage and are frustrating to find, and the last few collectables are seriously hard to collect.

Really? I remember liking Ty 1 back in the day but it's never stuck to me nor have I felt the urge to revisit it. Overall I think it's a really likable game, but not anything more significant than just another title of the early 00's platformer-with-talking-animals trend. It always struck me as one of those games that was executed well but not really rich enough in content to create a legit mascot.

Yeah I'd be cool with it too. Crash fits 2D pretty well which was proven by his first couple of GBA titles, as well as the bonus stages in the originals. Spyro would be harder to transition but I believe it would be possible in the right hands.

Spyro is that kind of game that it would be huge waste not to make it in 3D. Hey, we are living 2015 and the original was out in 1998 and in 3D. I think there is ernomous potential for a Spyro reboot if made in the same style as original. No Skylanders or Legend of Spyro style crap, though I understand those have their fans.

Spyro was never a hard game for me, though of course it took time to complete it 100% as a kid. I still enjoy it, it's more like for relaxing: there is something nice about collecting those shiny gems in lush environments.
