Re: What games are you currently playing?
I just beat Streets of Rage II one hour ago.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm currently trying out Psychonauts but I do suspect that it is inside that minor percentage of games that cause me to have motion sickness. If that confirms to be the case I must give up playing it and pass to other game.
I'm also trying out simultaneously Child of Light. I only played 50 minutes so far but as a first impression I really like all the visual work and the game mechanics, they remind me of Paper Mario a lot. I will have a more solid opinion once I finish the game.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
One part of Psychonauts will give you motion sickness for sure sadly
I never had issues in other parts of game.

Playing New Super Mario Bros 2 right now. And so far I'm having a lot of fun!
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I 100% that game for a good while but I am not interested in the DLCs though.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I play on R3 as usual.

Rayman 2. I played Chivalry too.

How do you play on a game? You'd break it.BestXIII wrote:I play on R3 as usual.
The DLC is something I'd get, but I'm sadly tight on cash right now.Haruka wrote:I 100% that game for a good while but I am not interested in the DLCs though.

NSMB2 was actually not that bad, I think people just weren't feeling another 2D Mario at the time. Aesthetically and musically it is just a straight copy from NSMBWii, but I thought the level design really upped in quality.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
None of the NSMB games are 'bad'. I thought NSMB2 was quite enjoyable.
However... After Wii the series really took a repetitive turn, they never did much drastically different in the series.
The first NSMB on DS was a huge deal because it was a throwback to 2D Mario. But not all of us liked the fact it was on handheld rather than console... So NSMB Wii came out and it was awesome. NSMB Wii was the height of the series and after that they just started decreasing in quality. What did NSMBU add? A minor new power up? The 'HD' is nothing to brag about at all either because NSMB Wii can be played in HD on Dolphin.I like Mario but the 2D series is undoubtedly a contender for repetitiveness. Not to mention 3D Land and World just feel like "New Super Mario Bros 3D" basically.
I still think Galaxy is one of the best 3D games, and for a Wii game, I'd argue it's a far better looking game than Mario 3D World despite the fact World is HD. (Play Galaxy on Dolphin Emulator on the highest settings and witness how incredible it looks),I'd really like to see a new 'true' 3D Mario.
I don't know about you guys... But the Wii U generation (SO FAR) has been a lackluster one. It's sad how a good chunk of the Wii U library (putting aside exceptions like Splatoon, Bayonetta and Smash) are 2D platformers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but they all come off as 'average'. I know good things are coming, but so far things have not been looking great. Even the new Star Fox coming out doesn't look all that incredible. I own every Nintendo console/handheld (excluding the Virtual Boy), but out of every console generation we've had I have to say the Wii U just came off as a lackluster one. I know certant people will disagree but I really wish Nintendo looked back at the stellar library and third party the SNES (and partially) the GameCube had.
I do miss the GameCube days where Nintendo had 'alright' third party support that got us games like Killer 7 and a handful of Capcom titles.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I side with Jon's view back from Game Grumps. NSMBWii is a fine game overall, but it's just a collection of things from previous games put together in one package. It's casual fun but nothing more really, pretty lifeless compared to, say, Super Mario World. And that's true about NSMB2/U as well. I don't mind Nintendo making games like this every now and then, they just dominated Mario for too long.
As for the 3D ones, I mean, 3D World turned out better than expected I think. It wasn't what people wanted, but it's by far the best that came out of these "classic Mario" games and it seemed like they did really want people to like this one.
A lot of it has been them kind of giving what people wanted. There's not a proper 3D Mario but there's an alternative for it, there's no new Animal Crossing but they are keeping the series alive. Maybe they'd rather store up popular and wanted titles to kick off a new console with a great start, but meanwhile the Wii U is down to releasing DLC for big games until Zelda is finally ready.

It really feels like they hate the Wii U and want it done with as soon as possible, but I hope they realise that it's still here for a while and they might as well make the best of it.Rayfist wrote: I don't know about you guys... Re: What games are you currently playing?
NSMBU wasn't even in my list of Wii U purchases but there was a post-christmas campaign few time after the release of the console where Wii U buyers could keep the game for extra 5€ so I took the chance.
It was good but I do admit I had to force myself a bit to 100% it due to its repetitiveness. I liked 3D World better but I stopped in the Champion's Road. I hardly doubt I can beat it
. But I can agree that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was one of the best Mario platformers I've had the pleasure to play.
I have been playing Child of Light and Castle Crashers lately. I gave up in Psychonauts because I get motion sickness, which is a shame since I heard good things about the game.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I could not bother completing NSMBU 100% but I did 3D World. I do admit my brother helped me on Champion's Road though
I also did beat every level with all character (so I played each level multiple times but I did use Wiimote trick and my bro played sometimes too and yes this is needed for 100% completion) and I absolutely did everything that could be done. I was staying many nights up until late.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
What's the worst or most difficult 100% completion experience you guys have gone through?
For me it's Sonic Adventure 2, I'm still to this day shocked I actually put myself through all this.
You're given a set of 30 levels in the game each with 5 missions. 100% completion does not require you beat these missions, but PERFECT them, with an A rank on EVERY SINGLE level/mission.
30 x 5= 150 missions that need to be perfected with an A rank. And that isn't even the end of it.... You still have to fully complete the chao garden mini games as well which require raising a strong chao.
I dedicated myself to 100%ing this mediocre game over the previous summer, and I did it. All that is unlocked is a new extra stage for Sonic that is less than 2 minutes long.
On the bright side I got the trophy/achievement to prove my success but I'm never enduring that torture ever again.
I've never 100%ed SA1 and I do think it's less of a pain in the ass then SA2 but I'm not going to bother.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Oh is that how you unlock that Green Hill Zone stage? I never bother with ranks in Sonic, just doesn't feel rewarding enough.
The hardest completion I've taken on and failed to do was RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. On top of the original game there's also both expansion packs which have pretty much been sold as part of the main game for a long time now, and it's just an insane amount of time. The beginner stuff can take like 2-3 hours per park, but the expert ones can take like a week each, if not more. And then that's assuming you achieve your goal in time, or you gotta restart entire days of work.
And the best part of it all: There's no reward for beating the game.

And I've yet to play any of the Persona or SMT games. I'm really interested in Persona 3 and 4 though.
