Well it's not as much a research assignment, but the teacher wanted < to read ALL the literature concerning the assignment, which will in fact not be due till December, before starting on it tomorrow. Anyway, in a way <'s glad it happened now and it is a valid learning point for <: Check how much literature you have to read before deciding to day it just one day in advance...
This could have been an excruciating disaster if < were later in <s study programme
