Re: Rayman 3 scores
I am literally less than 0.1 sec too late. But I'm almost there. What I'm trying to do, is to destroy the 2nd piggy only (the one containing no Gems), then run to the Hoodblaster. I've managed to improve my time by jumping, turning back, then activating helicopter right away so that Rayman doesn't jump so high and waste time in the air. I think it's possible, I'll get it sooner or later.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
wait what, how did the get to 39k? do you have a video of the combo?
Re: Rayman 3 scores
I don't have a video, because I play on emulator with savestates. If I wanted to combine that into a video, I would have to record about 50-60 segments then put them together. With my lack of editing skills, I don't really want to do it.
And you can get 39520 combo if you combine literally everything from the room with green gem and from the next area (finishing the combo with Matuvu). Of course with IPG + HMF.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Interesting, I have done so when I played Super Castelvania IV on SNESpsp.
Also I have to tell you double posting is not recommended, use the "edit" button instead.

nonetheless, cool to see some TAS action
Re: Rayman 3 scores
The reason why I'm playing Rayman 3 on emulator, is because I probably would never be satisfied with my scores by playing "normally". Which means I would spend months replaying the same level just to perform a ridiculous SJ/combo, which would lead to a mountain of frustration. Therefore, I try to convince myself that choosing the "easier" way of playing on emulator will bring me more satisfaction.Cut wrote:that's unfortunate

Hehe, so true.Lance wrote:The reason why I'm playing Rayman 3 on emulator, is because I probably would never be satisfied with my scores by playing "normally". But when you, after months and months of frustration, finally make it work, there is no sweeter moment.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
240 points improvement in FC1 (ridiculously impossibly hard, not recommended):
After getting hands, go into the tunnel, grab the 1st and 2nd Gem, then get the 2 Gems on the far-off mushrooms, then get the 3rd Gem outside the tunnel. Quickly jump on the side of the smallest mushroom without grabbing the Gem. Roll off, quickly get to the trampolines, and roll into the 2nd trampoline to grab the Gem floating in the air. This is ridiculously hard, took me about 500 retries on emulator. After that, grab the Gem on the left side, then grab the Gem on the right trampoline. Continue along the path to collect 3 more Gems, fall down and collect 3 Gems on small mushrooms. Grab the 1st Gem on the bridge, strafe around the 2nd one, then go for the 2 Gems on the wood. This also took me about 500 retries. After that, fall down, collect 3 Yellow Gems, then 3 Red Gems, then 5 more Yellow Gems, Matuvu, Red Gem.

Re: Rayman 3 scores
nah man, i'm with cut on this one. the R3 community over the years just has shifted towards something i don't care to be a part of. i mean, looking at the HoF, there's a guy sitting at the top, everyone trailing >30k points behind him with no idea how he's done it. maz and 1234 don't really seem to mind, so i'm fine with it, but yeah, i don't see the point, sorry. my priorities have shifted towards other games that i enjoy playing a lot. but it's still interesting to me to see how far you guys push the game, which is also the reason why i want to know your level scores, since so far i really can't explain them outside of an unlimited points exploit in SBTC haha.MandM81 wrote: I'll post the screenshots with the videos when I return. Does that mean you are back playing R3 again? What's you're current score?
a simple list of your scores would do, i don't really need screenshots, but you've been reluctant to post them ever since you passed ~880K so i guess i won't expect them anymore.
keep on pushing the game to it's limits guys, because that's what the hunt for HoF scores should be about. excited to see the game develop like this

Re: Rayman 3 scores
That's exactly how I played the Matuvu Combo in FC2.Lance wrote:240 points improvement in FC1 (ridiculously impossibly hard, not recommended):

And yeah, it took me ages to complete. It is indeed ridiculously hard.
I didn't know you could combine the areas in part 3 so you end the combo in the last room. It's an amazing theoretical score.Lance wrote:And you can get 39520 combo if you combine literally everything from the room with green gem and from the next area (finishing the combo with Matuvu). May I ask, what was your score after part 1 and part 2 when you reached 139.769 points?
Re: Rayman 3 scores
I used the "infinite spawn glitch" in CF1 to get the points I needed. If you scroll up 1 or 2 pages, you can see how this glitch works... It allows you to re-spawn a Hoodblaster an infinite number of times.
I have a question regarding FC4, has anyone found an IPG there?
MandM81, could you post your scores in each level? I really want to see which levels I need to improve.

Which means infinite combo points too ?Lance wrote:I used the "infinite spawn glitch" in CF1 to get the points I needed. If you scroll up 1 or 2 pages, you can see how this glitch works... It allows you to re-spawn a Hoodblaster an infinite number of times.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
No, it takes too much time to respawn it. Combo is impossible.incognito wrote:Which means infinite combo points too ?Lance wrote:I used the "infinite spawn glitch" in CF1 to get the points I needed. Re: Rayman 3 scores
But it means with enough patience you can kill him again and again so much times that you will have the biggest Rayman score ever ?
Re: Rayman 3 scores
As I mentioned above, I will do that along with a set of videos.Lance wrote:I used the "infinite spawn glitch" in CF1 to get the points I needed. If you scroll up 1 or 2 pages, you can see how this glitch works... It allows you to re-spawn a Hoodblaster an infinite number of times.

Besides that I don't really see how our scores can compare, or how my scores can help you. You have 139.769 points in CF using a slowdown version with save stages together with an infinite Hoodblaster glitch and an IPG. I have about 121,5k points in CF by using "regular play". I think I calculated around 121.800 points to be the maximum for my way of playing. It's nowhere near your score. I have 115k+ points in HH by playing the "regular way". I'm sure you can get 117k - 118k points by using an IPG and a slowdown version with save stages.
My point is, no matter what level you play, you can outscore everyone in here in every level and my scores are redundant in that aspect.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
It's hardly redundant when I can't reach 900k points right now, while you have 898k. I'm sure some of your levels have better scores than mine.
Re: Rayman 3 scores
He's not trying to compare himself to you though, he's just a guy trying to push the game to its inhumanly limits, which is a pretty sweet endeavor imo and I would really love to see the endresult, so level scores would go a long way in helping that quest
