I thought it was the french name of the Hoodoos.
Re: Rayman 3
Hey! I managed to get the game to run without installation by uninstalling it and launching Rayman3.exe on the disc! However I get a “disk full” error while saving.Fifo wrote:Impossible. I'd look for some custom language packages, too see their files structure. For example look in Google: "Rayman 3 spolszczenie". If gamefiles are not packed somewhow, which is very possible.I know that. My Slovak 3CD copy of R3 has such option, but I’d rather play the game in English.
Or maybe overwriting of game files keeping original language's filenames will enough.
Re: Rayman 3
@Fifo Have you ever heard about DVD-RW discs?
Anyway, that what you are trying to achieve is ridiculous, specifically measures.

Re: Rayman 3
Indeed, mostly because Rayman 3's total size is an epic amount of 1,2 GB!deton24 wrote:@Fifo Have you ever heard about DVD-RW discs?

THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL I CAN AFFORD THAT FREE SPACE ON MY HDD IN 2015!!! xD
Re: Rayman 3
you can’t write to a DVD-RW disc like you can to a hard drive.deton24 wrote:Have you ever heard about DVD-RW discs?
My virtual Windows 8 HDD (yes, virtual, I run Windows in Parallels) is getting full. That’s why I want the game to run directly from the DVD.deton24 wrote:Anyway, that what you are trying to achieve is ridiculous, specifically measures.
Re: Rayman 3
I don't know which virtual machines hardware are you using, but I heard about possibilities of sharing your physical HDD on virtual machine.
Re: Rayman 3
When I think about that, I'm absolutely sure you can craft a portable version of Rayman, you will need a RW DVD, a no CD, and Daemon tools, I'm also pretty sure you can do tomething with symlinks for the savegame.Fifo wrote:Hey! Perhaps you want me to write a tutorial about it ?
Re: Rayman 3
Curious: has anyone ever attempted to map out how R3's areas tie into the ones from R2?
Re: Rayman 3
If only we could get that darn eu site with the map to work it would be a lot easier...

Re: Rayman 3
This might be a little out of the blue. I've been wondering, does anyone think there's a way to undo the health bar shrinking that occurs in the Tower of the Leptys?
Re: Rayman 3
Shrinking...? I never noticed a shrink.

I believe it shrinks when you get to the flying part.

Pay attention to Rayman's health bar. It shrinks further during the final Reflux battle. I never understood why that happened, and why they didn't have it revert afterwards.

Whoa, you're right
!
I really never noticed it. Yeah, it is definitely wierd.

I never paid attention to that, interesting
Re: Rayman 3
I'd assume it's because the health bar in this scenario, as well as against Reflux, represents the durability of your vehicle rather than Rayman's life. I don't know why they'd not reset the health bar after you're done with the fight, though.
One thing I'd like to point out is that (at least on PC) it's the same with the Summit beyond the Clouds; your health bar extends/shrinks to a certain degree (I think it's the same length as if you had broken all the Cages up to this Part) once you're on the boat (again, presumably representing the ship's durability rather than your life force), and your health bar will remain that way forever.

Re: Rayman 3
Hm, makes sense. I do remember opting to go to the Summit often after beating the final boss for that reason, and that was on PS2.
Though I do wonder if there's some way to overcome this limitation, the health you have by returning to the Summit is more than ample, but either ways, it's annoying that you barely get to enjoy a full health bar before it's immediately whittled down. Seeing as the final cage is at the end of the level before the Lavomatrix one.

I must admit that I've never noticed this before, probably because I barely got hit in the first place. xD

Re: Rayman 3
I've known about this for years, since I played it on PS2, when Game Overs were a thing I could get in Clearleaf Forest. I was wondering about it recently and decided to bring it up.

Re: Rayman 3
What does your health bar look like after the fight then? Because I don't have a tiny ass health bar in my PS2 save. My health bar has the size where the first shrinking appears (first flying part).
