I much prefer smaller rooms, my 'cave' in the pitures is perfect for me.
I would sleep in there with a single mattress on the floor (that would be perfect) but my bedroom is much bigger with a proper double bed, and I kind of don't like it because of the size...

Sitting on your bed instead of a chair+desk combo is uncomfortable, and you can't really play PC games that way.

Personally I prefer to use the floor and use my desk to place objects not being used on the floor... this is probably why my room gets so messy.

I have a desk, but I don't use my room cause it's so dark and is essentially used as a storage room. So my laptop is always on my lap at home, but at least I'm not a guy so I don't have to worry about cooking my nutsack.
