Rayman 2 lag when using Glide64
Jabo's plugins are terrible with Rayman 2, so I used Glide64, but it makes the game lag at times when there's high action on screen. Any solutions?

Maybe some OC is allowed. Or other Glide wrapper nGlide or zeckensack's Glide wrapper.
Look at some settings. This second one allows to adjust more.

Re: Rayman 2 lag when using Glide64
Hey deton24, I was wondering - how do I change the currently used Glide wrapper for the GOG Rayman 2 version? I downloaded and installed zeckensack's Glide wrapper; placed it in a folder of its own under Program Files (x86). Do I need to install it elsewhere? How do I activate it as the wrapper for Rayman 2? GXSetup doesn't detect it as a driver.
Thanks
Thanks

Read this. Should work:

Once installed nGlide or zeckensack's Glide wrapper, remains in system, regardless of the game localization. Just choose it in GXsetup.

Hm. I did follow that already, but it didn't seem to change anything. If I choose the "Glide2" driver from within GXSetup, is that actually using zeckensack's Glide wrapper? If so, I may just experiment with some settings to try and get it to work correctly.
Out of curiosity, which settings worked for you?

Re: Rayman 2 lag when using Glide64
So are you able to choose Glide or not?
Ofcourse that wrapper will be used then.
Yes, you should experiment. Eventually you must reinstall whole game, because Glide option just disapears.
And for addition, I used nGlide instead of this second one, so my config may fits more to nGlide wrapper.
Overwritten config should work with nGlide then, it has a line with Glide set.

What do you mean by Glide wrapper. I downloaded glide wrapper, but it was to play games without 3dfx voodoo so it wasn't the project 64 version.deton24 wrote:Maybe some OC is allowed. Or other Glide wrapper nGlide or zeckensack's Glide wrapper.

But how emulator's plugin will be alllowed to use glide when card is not Voodoo?
Plugin allows just to use Glide render, probably nothing more, but I can be wrong.
Hmm... if you are able to work without it... you're right.

Re: Rayman 2 lag when using Glide64
You should use the last version of Glide.... Glide69.Stormtrooper934 wrote:Jabo's plugins are terrible with Rayman 2, so I used Glide64, but it makes the game lag at times when there's high action on screen. Any solutions?
Re: Rayman 2 lag when using Glide64
Don't use Jabo, don't use Glide64. I would recommend GLideN64, but if that doesn't work, try Rice, Direct64 and glN64.
