(the clips reminded me a little the Robin Hood episode, terrible memories… but it has probably nothing in common)

Yeah it was! I loved it personally (although that might have been because Ms. Williams was in it)

I'll give more in-depth thoughts later, but yeah, I do think this one fell a little short. Still, it wasn't bad, so Series 9 to me is still going pretty well, and we're halfway through now.

Eh. Liked her best in part one. Not sure about her now. That's weird, huh! I did like the end of this episode in the TARDIS though. Was a bit touching and also a bit foreshadowing...

I think she's a tad annoying. Also I can't help but see her as a little girl... so I was confused when she had kids but oh well.


Also, was I the only one who thought the Vikings at first weren't real Vikings, as in maybe space-Vikings, as they had horned helmets?

Aiaiai, I've got two two-parters to discuss, and I've not gathered my thoughts. I will say that I enjoyed the Zygon two-parter, some bits I was a bit eh, but overall, very nice episodes.

Well, two two parters and one standalone 'un. Let's see what I can muster.

For the Ashildr/Me two-parter, I preferred the first half. I dunno if it was the plot in itself (though the Mire themselves weren't all too engaging monsters of the week, the means in which they were beat was pretty cool), or the continuity, but it took my fancy better. The second half was decent, but the point it was trying to make felt too obvious and I think in some regards it overshadowed the general plot, which felt a bit clunky. Overall, they weren't too shabby, but I'd say that it's the weakest amongst the two-parters we've had this series.

The Zygon two-parter, I did thoroughly enjoy. There were some tid-bits which were a bit iffy for me, but seeing the Zygons used in such a sinister fashion, and bringing a tie back to the 50th, was very cool indeed. I think Bonnie was very well played, I actually preferred evil Clara, heh. I'm a bit curious as to why Zygons turn people into lumps of what appears to be hair, but that's not too major in the grand scheme of things. The scene in the Black Archive was probably one of 12's best scenes, and I'll imagine it'll be one that'll be remembered in Who history.

[Then we had this episode. To be brutally honest, it didn't do it for me. I get what it was trying to do with the mind games, but ultimately, I just found myself underwhelmed. I'm not sure if it's because the concept seemed a little too far fetched to me, or if it's the episodes style of conveyance. Either ways, it's probably tied with the second half of the Ashildr two-parter as the weakest episodes of Series 9 for me. That's not so bad though, as I still think Series 9 has been very strong, and I'm hoping that it'll stay on high this year. Given the synopsis of the finale (WHICH I REPEAT, YOU SHOULD NOT READ UNLESS YOU REALLY LIKE BEING COMPLETELY SPOILED IN THE BIGGEST WAY), it's looking to be a big 'un.]

Also, the sand-men episode reminded me of the ocean/sea two parter earlier this season and if you ask me it had quite some similar components.

The last episode bored me incredibly. I didn't care at all for the characters, or anything that was happening. Spooky monsters in a space station, and that's it, it really goes nowhere.
[The idea of not sleeping is good though! I could totally see a dystopia based on a humanity that want to be productive and doesn't take any break, stop dreaming… But here, it's like that episode in season 1 about time paradox. “Why is it bad? Because then ugly monsters will come after you!”. Eh, that's really weak.
Also, the shaky cam annoyed me. I know it was kind of justified in the plot, but it isn't used in a particularly clever way.]

Only the very last scene was interesting, though. Good twist, a little bit of fourth wall, and explain the episode's format. Too bad nothing before that is actually interesting enough to make it have an impact.
