I myself found a reprint of the Ike amiibo along with Ganondorf for half off.

You don't get any granted wishes anyway because your a slimy salamander.

Here's a question for you guys. Do you prefer physical or digital copies of games? What's your stance on digital game copies?

Right now it's practical, but once the Valve server get nuked by Isis, goodbye games. Physical copies ensure you have something left, that you can prove your purchase, and store it on shelf for everybody else to see. Thus, it's better to share your passion using physical copies.

I wouldn't mind digital, if, like Pirez stated, there wasn't the consequence of being reliant on a third party. GoG.com is nice because as long as you have the installation file, you can install and play. There's no being tied to anything.

That being said, I do still buy digital off Steam, but I've seen the downsides of being tied to it in action. People can't play their games because their account has been compromised, or they're forced to download a game, despite having a physical copy. I do recall someone claiming that Valve stated that they'd unlock their games should anything happen to Steam, whether or not that'll be the case if and when that day comes, remains to be seen.

I would very much bet that if the servers did shut down, and if it did mean you couldn't access your games, there would be a fan-based team who would create an alternative. The game files will always stay on your hard drive even if the servers go down so I doubt it would be that hard to make a pseudo-Steam to access them and even get multiplayer up again.

I personally prefer digital copies any day. You can't lose them, you can't break or damage them, you don't have to store them and use up lots of physical space, you don't have to go through the hassle of keeping them in their boxes and unscratched, you can access them on any computer through the internet and just re-downloading, there are always ridiculously cheap deals that you can't find in shops, it's easier to find games to buy instead of going to a shop every now and then to see what's in stock, with updates to computer hardware compatibility issues are usually fixed out-of-the-box instead of physical copies that may need a crack and a lot of extra trouble, games will never leave the store and go 'out of printing' or rare etc.
You can even get refunds on Steam now. Yes you can't re-sell your games once you've finished playing, but compared to the vast amount of advantages and considering there are always big deals anyway, it doesn't really matter, not to me at least.

Also it's way more convenient to just click on a game from a list rather than find the game you want and be constantly switching your disks.

I try to buy all my games physically, that way it's easier to keep track of what you have and you don't have to worry about losing data to shut down servers.

I prefer physical copies myself. The fill out my bookcase and make it flourish per say. There's no other feeling then popping in a disk into the console or hearing that click whenever you put the cartridge in the slot. Also, you can hold the copy in your hands and admire the box art and manuals. You can't do that with a digital copy.

But with a digital copy you can load them at anytime you want. They're always on the system, so that's convent. They also can't break nor can you lose them, unlike physical copies. And when you buy a digital copy, you can always redownload it without paying again.

I guess I can say I'm half and half. I would buy a physical copy of a game first, but if I lose it or it breaks, I guess I'll buy the next copy digitally for it won't happen again.

I prefer digital now. Physical was a novelty to me before, but it wore off right away when I started having to conserve space.

You can't trade in digital copies once you're bored of them. :P

I'm poor too ya dumpling, but I don't think I've ever return a game. If I'm going to buy a game, I research about it a lot in order to make sure I'll get the most of it.

I've kept a few favourites around, but once I've got the most out of games I trade them in, like DVDs. :) Can't remember the last time I paid full price for something.
