Love that one. Will Ferell's performance is so damn funny. I love that film and it's a must see for the Holidays.Acarr wrote:Elf?Bradandez wrote:Christmas Movies/Specials recommendations?

Re: Movies you just recently watched
Tokyo's Godfathers? Not really about Christmas, but the plot takes place during that time… And as I've already told, it's really fun.
I think I'll watch Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Never seen it, and I've heard it's quite weird. So why not!
Also one of the Peanuts Christmas Special. I barely know anything of that franchise, and for the little I have seen, I really need to discover more!

I saw Krampus and actually really liked it a lot. It's not a straight-up horror movie, there's a lot of dark humour and the horror stays PG overall, but I thought it had some clever ideas that were executed pretty well.
I also thought the ending was really fucking cool. There's like a general theme going on about not "losing the spirit of Christmas" when it's so soaked up by consumerism and rejected family interaction, and it actually touches upon that really well, but then the end toys with it so well and just kinda crosses over the whole idea of a fairly not serious horror movie with an actual idea to take away from it. Ending is coolios.

Oh man, I've been hearing a lot of good things about Krampus. It's actually getting me excited! I heard it being compared to Gremlins, one of my favorite movies, so color me intrigued!
Re: Movies you just recently watched
The idea of a comedy horror is appealing as well as off-putting... but then Krampus is a brilliant Christmas tradition so that sounds fun.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
Recently, I re-watched Lion King I but in its Blu-Ray edition. It is even more glorious to watch in this format as you can see the drawings and background paintings in higher detail. I also watched in its original dub for the first time.
In the past two weeks I have watched Back to the Future I and II. They are fun to watch, especially the first one. For the second one it was fun to point the many things they exagerated about the year of 2015. The only things they got right was watching more than one channel at the same time (though we have limitations in that way) and videoconference calls. Next week I will watch the III.

Oh so it is a good remaster? I should check Blu-Ray edition too then.Haruka wrote:Recently, I re-watched Lion King I but in its Blu-Ray edition. I watched Lion King on English, Japanese and Russian dub. First time I watched it was a VHS I got and it was English dubbed. I seen Japanese and Russian dubs online much later.

Oh my god, fuck you Acarr. I've been trying my darn hardest to avoid spoilers for and I thought this would be the safest place. You've proven that wrong.Acarr wrote:Watched The Force Awakens earlier, it was FANTASTIC!!!!!![]()

Today I watched Back to the Future III and like this the trilogy is closed. I liked it in general despite of some clichés and the exagerated perspective towards 2015 in the second movie.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
One of the best films I've seen in a looong time, was so absorbed.
What's a tad annoying now that I've seen it is I wanna know what other people think of it but everyone's being hush hush.
But I'm glad I can now safely browse the web without fear of accidentally seeing a spoiler.

Re: Movies you just recently watched
I also will watch The Force Awakens tomorrow myself.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
I probably gonna watch it weeks later. I still need to watch all the other films beforehand.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
Sleepy Hallow by Tim Burton.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
Seen Star Wars. It was awesome. Although I was a bit that one particular character shown prominently in the trailer ends up being with almost no lines at all.
Re: Movies you just recently watched
I just watched Star Wars VII. It was fantastic, kudos to Disney for the movie. I already had good expectations about it but it went way above in the end. Having watched in 3D is a bonus too.
Will get the DVD once it comes out.
