I don't really collect every rayman thing out there (I already collect Transformers and they're a giant money drain), but im a sucker for Rayman 3 stuff as It's my all time favorite game.
But holy grail (in collecting terms) = the rarest item a person wants to find in their terms, it's very rare when it actually shows up but people usually jump for it.
Example: A lot of people's holy grails are either the Rayman sitting on a mushroom mini-statue, or that giant (life-sized?) Rayman 3 promotional statue if it ever shows up and they got the $$$.

But while im cringing at the 511$ winning bid by someone , i've seen small plushies in other collector communities like Pokemon go to 1000$ due to rarity ( it's usually lottery plushies/giveaway plush.)

My mistake, I misunderstood what you meant. :oops2:
I really don't collect things outside of Rayman or Oddworld. But Ive never heard of a plushie going for a solid grand. :confus:

It was. That plan had changed by mid 2011. Not sure how this relates to Rayman merch, but there's your answer.

If an English version would exist, I would have gotten my hands on it ages ago.
I don't want to buy a book solely for the sake of owning it. I prefer reading those things. :)

The one I bought is an artbook, not the main book.

@Bradandez Thanks dude, if I find another one I'll give you the link.

I'm sure that despite the fact that it's an artbook it still has text based informations, not only images.

Do we have any infos about a possible English release, btw?

I contacted Motormike few days ago and this is his exact quote:

"Hi. For me, it's never gonna happen. The French sales were quite disappointing and the editor didn't answer me about an English release -_-
Maybe they will consider it for the 25th birthday :/ Anyways, thanks for asking"

You'd do that for lil ol' me, Eren? ;w;

Also, does the artbook just include Legends artwork or Rayman in general artwork?

Hmmmm...I wonder if the disappointing sales are in any way related to the fact that (cough) THE BOOK WAS NEVER RELEASED IN ENGLISH, ONLY IN FRENCH, SO THE MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGE OF THE WORLD IS AUTOMATICALLY DROPPED AND WITH IT ALL RAYMAN FANS OF THE GLOBE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN THE BOOK BUT ARE NOT SPEAKING FREAKIN' FRENCH.

That's just me thinking though. :D

I have them too, I think I got one from a magazine and the other one from Mac D.

Good for you! £256, that's an impressive amount indeed.

Despite being French character, I think Rayman is more popular outside France. Didn't his first game sell much better in UK as well? I do think developers should try to release all Rayman related stuff in future on both French and English at same time. It will improve sales for sure.

Now I think about it, I can't remember if it's the mushroom figure or the bush figure I got from a magazine.

So... is the artbook of the History of Rayman just consists of Rayman Legends artwork or Rayman in general artwork?

Uhm, from the few pics I could see on the net, it looks like it has only Rayman Legends artworks.
