It's just a shame every port of Rayman these days are based on the PC codebase. I understand it's probably an easier starting point to get hold of, but it would be nice to see something based on the PS1/Saturn version for a change...

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
I'm actually pretty curious about this. While I doubt I'll be able to run it myself, every Rayman 1 port so far has had something new to offer to the table. Recent trends are typically difficulty decreasing measures (I imagine they'll have to do this for mobile) among more random changes (black music abrs on DSi). The way Rayman games change about from port to port has made me coin the term 'Ubisoft differences' to describe games with slight changes on different consoles
.

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Those games weren't really ports in the traditional sense. Sonic 1 and 2 for smartphones used a new engine, that used the original assets. I'd class them more as recreations than ports.
I'm agreed in that I'd like Ubi to go for that approach if this is indeed a Rayman 1 for mobiles, but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Maybe if this does well, we can get a full remake for consoles and PC? One can hope.
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Alister Thomson made Jazz Jackrabbit Open Source Edition, but lack of full game physics like in original MS-DOS version.Original programmer is know member of Bosskey Productions and his name is Arjan Brussee.Rayman 4 and Half-Life 3 will be confirmed when someone will use creativity like George Lucas.

I'm looking forward to it, but I hope it's not free to play
But when it is, the gold fist/super health will be a permanent upgrade for €5,-

2 more days!
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
1 more day?!
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
And finally Ubisoft leaked it! It's apparently going to be called Rayman Classic! So, it seems like it's definitely a Rayman 1 port!

I couldn't see this on the Facebook page, where'd you see this? :OCarrot-master wrote:And finally Ubisoft leaked it! It's apparently going to be called Rayman Classic! So, it seems like it's definitely a Rayman 1 port!
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Same, I also wonder how the controls are going to be.

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
I hope controls will be better than the Rayman 2 iOS ones. I heard this version of Rayman 2 has terrible controls ...
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
I also wonder how much it's going to cost?
Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
I checked their support page and one of the options for mobile game support was Rayman Classic along with Adventures, FIesta Run etc.Acarr wrote:I couldn't see this on the Facebook page, where'd you see this? :OCarrot-master wrote:And finally Ubisoft leaked it! I sure hope the controls work out okay. I'm just worried about where the running button will be placed as I see it hard making it possible to run and jump at the same time with virtual controls. Let's hope it turns out better than it did with Rayman 2 on iOS...
My worry is rather that it won't cost anything at all...Acarr wrote:I also wonder how much it's going to cost?

Hmm... I can't seem to find that listing. Did they take it down?Carrot-master wrote:I checked their support page and one of the options for mobile game support was Rayman Classic along with Adventures, FIesta Run etc.

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Ah OK, I was looking in the FAQ section rather than the ask a question area. Looks like they are ready for tomorrow's release!

Rayman 1 confirmed! I already knew it along with RibShark, but we wanted to keep surprise!
Also iOS port only!

iOS only by the looks of it. https://www.facebook.com/rayman/posts/502672889934459
It's like they don't want my money or something.

Re: Rayman 1 on mobile?
Hmm, even so, I do wonder how they've approached this. Ubi's track record with ports isn't the best, and I'd imagine that's the likeliest route they've taken with this.
