If <'s not mistaken, although Macs are technically 'personal computers', the term PC has evolved separately from its literal meaning to instead refer to a computer that runs Windows. Even Microsoft and Apple use these terms as so, for example in Apple's 'Mac vs PC' adverts where PC means a Windows computer.

< is afraid that just because a lot of people make the same mistake doesn't make them less wrong.

< also personally feels that having PC as a term to describe Windows computers specifically is useful as there seems to be no other term that's equivalent to 'Mac' as an OS X computer.
