Members are able to report PMs, that's how we were able to find out who posted the message.

I was a moderator, it's known fact that PMs are readable for stuff. Sorry

Because about 8 other members reported that PM via the report tool? Like I said, you can report PMs in the same way you can report posts. Reported PMs and posts show up on the moderator control panel.

If there is a way for mods to see non-reported PMs, I'm not aware of it. Perhaps the visibility of PMs to mods is a tweakable setting, and it's been set to not allow us to see them here.
