Rayman 2 OST N64

Post by SocialGhost »

Currently uploading each track to youtube. Don't confuse this with the files you download from Raytunes, they're all divided into seperate parts from the SAME song. This really bugged me out so instead I thought I'd upload them as a whole and add to playlist once they're all up. As of now I'm having difficulty because Raytunes doesn't consist of every part of The Canopy and those exact same parts I completely forgot to record myself. So later this month I'll be heading north on a short visit and from there I will have the N64 available and can add all the missing parts. Right now this is as far as I've gotten.

So tell me, what's your favorite track from the N64 soundtrack of Rayman 2?
Mine is the entire Top Of The World and the overworld segment of The Echoing Caves.

Ahh... It should be put on Raytunes. Great work.
Could you upload it in FLAC, or other source files from which you've put it on You Tube?

I downloading it via JDownloader, maybe I'll rip it from there.
I received package with original files from uploader.
Unfortunately they are only 128kbps wma, but arrangements are very interesting

U can download whole folder easily with Jdownloader

Hmm... looks like we have other N64 rip on Raytunes already by Parasyte.

It's in mp3, but there is less noise in files, worse arrangement, but more completed to yours.
But I quite enjoy your arrangement. Nice work.

It is also good to mention about music for Rayman 3 Gameboy Advance that it is just an another version of midi version of Rayman 2 soundtrack. But not the same like N64, but still midi.

Can't really say, since I don't know all the differences, however I was reminded of this video:

Instinctually I just go for PC when I'm asked this question, but seeing that video I could honestly go for either version of the Hall of Doors theme…

Well, I’d say the PC OST is “better” but I prefer the N64 theme, if you know what I mean.

The N64 theme was the last one I heard, having played all versions, so it felt like the soundtrack was being strangled and making intermittent guttural noises. Having said that, I also find it charming in its own way. It has a more abstract, minimalist quality that harmonizes well with Rayman 2's fairy-tale world. Ultimately though, the brilliance of Eric Chevalier's compositions, which manage to be both orchestral and ambient, is completely lost. But it is the wonder of Rayman 2 that we are blessed with different variations to marvel at.

Okay, that's enough procrastination...

Wow, you really worked hard on that! :noel:

Also, I do think that the Exclusive Revolution songs are the best
