General Pokémon Thread

Huh, I'm actually the opposite, I really like these starters, though I can sort of see where you folks are coming from.

An owl (been there, done that), a seal (been there, done that), and a cat (oh come on). Not only that but they all seem like really generic pokemon you could just interchange with any other route one pokemon or first patch of water pokemon.

I can't say I fully agree with critisism on "generic-ism" on Pokemon when it's essentially a series which has creatures based on animals and naturally you're gonna get multiple based on the same critter. I'd call them generic if they were really darn close looking to other pokemon based on that animal, but I think they look unique enough to stand their own ground (Hell, there's only 2 other owl pokemon in a wide variety of bird pokemon).

Also since no ones brought this up yet CoroCoro leaked a koala and a dog pokemon (said dog being that mysterious new pokemon that was sneaked in a trailer) :

Can't say i'm digging the dog too much (although curious that it's going to be a rock type) but I do love that koala.

EDIT : Oh yeah there's also footage of 10% and 100% Zygarde in Sun & Moon :
unsure of how to feel about that.

I quite agree, they seem to be pretty nice.

Awwww, that gif is so cute. I love Popplio sooo much. I can't believe people hate him. :D

Truth be told, I've not seen so much hate, as I have neglect. From what I've seen, Popplio doesn't seem to be hated, but overshadowed by Litten and Rowlet.

I'm not quite sure which I'd start out with, to be honest. They all look really good.

I know which is Master's favorite though.

Every single pokemon game I have ever played I always started with water types and nothing else. This will remain true in this game too. I don't know why I am drawn to them so much. Maybe because water amazes me and so many pokemon I love are water types.

That's weird : the water started is usually the one I'm the least interested in. The only exception being Gen 4. Totodile is also nice, but since Typhlosion is my favorite Pokémon I rarely pick him (but let's also not forget Chikorita =3 )

Last time, I went with a fire type Pokemon, I wonder if I should opt for something else.

Ah ha! Made my 29,000th post too! 8)

Quite so, and I believe it's time to stop insulting perfectly good Pokemon and get back onto the subject at hand.

Got that, Brad? No more repeating yourself, you've mentioned your opinion multiple times already, we get it, you hate it, get over it.

Anyway, I may opt for Pokemon Moon, in the end.

Who's excited for Pokemon Go? Apparently it will be launching next month.
I like the idea of capturing the gyms and walking around to find some mons.

Personally I've not given it much thought, though I may see what people have to say.
People have mostly positive views about it. If I get in the beta, I will tell you about it.

Oh cool, I would love to hear what you have to say about it. :)

I wonder how quick you can drain the phone battery with it though.

Probably really fast. But I plan on getting a charging case anyway.

I remember playing Miitomo, and the battery goes down quick.

Though the Pokemon Go does seem interesting, regardless.
