Re: Rayman Adventures
Maybe they had even worse concepts for the enemies and this was the tamest thing they can get away with, lol.

It's possible, I mean it could be worse by far, so I'm just gonna chalk this up to a bit of a clumsy handling.Bradandez wrote:Maybe they had even worse concepts for the enemies and this was the tamest thing they can get away with, lol.
Re: Rayman Adventures
Yeah, all achievements and everything, and for everyone wondering I was connected to both Facebook and Gamcenter. I really don't know what happened. I've written to Ubisoft support and waiting for an answer.syntheticgerbil wrote:Geez, did you have all the achievements too? That sounds awful!Carrot-master wrote:Yeah, great update... My progress was wiped and now I'm on Adventure 1 with the app crashing every time I start it... 700 adventures gone...

Re: Rayman Adventures
Racist or not, let's face the facts... they're an awful, half-assed excuse for enemies.
Seriously, they just took Minotaurs without the horns, painted their skin yellow, made their teeth awful and closed their eyes, with a cup shaped hairstyle and a Bruce Lee/Kill Bill costume because pop culture is all we needed in Rayman games. The fact that they took a movie reference and turned it into an element of the Rayman universe just takes me away from the experience. The Terminator reference in Legends was funny because it was a momentarily event, but these guys have the permanent Bruce Lee seal. Hopefully, the Swordmen and Hatmen will never appear again in a Rayman game.
And let's be honest, maybe it won't offend you, but the stereotypes are still there, and they're pretty offensive, but, like, 40's level of offensive. The teeth, the eyes, the skin, the hair, it's all there. I'm not offended, and of course, I'll keep playing, but I'm just thinking about how insensitive it is. It takes away the fantasy element that makes Rayman cool... just to poke fun at a dead joke.
It makes me sad that they could have chosen Kappas, Onis, Kitsunes, Dragons, Lions, or any kind of spirits... and they chose Bruce Lee :/

Oh yes. The enemies are quite lame indeed.sergiomonty wrote:It makes me sad that they could have chosen Kappas, Onis, Kitsunes, Dragons, Lions, or any kind of spirits... and they chose Bruce Lee :/

Re: Rayman Adventures
What I think is worse is that there IS an oni enemy... but it only shows up in one level so far. Why couldn't it be the main enemy?

This and you are forced to buy Golden Lucky Tickets yourself if you want to collect missing Bon'Bons...Bradandez wrote:It's definitely an improvement. You get better stuff, only thing is now you won't be able to get gems quicker.
@Sergio I also noticed they were still pretty identical to the shape of the minotaurs. I also agree that they could have picked up a creature of orient culture to be introduced as the enemies of Wild Wild East instead of using a . Lack of ideas I think? Or it was quicker to pick up a Minotaur model and change the textures...
Yesterday night I had two interesting glitches, I wonder if you guys also experienced something identical: I was about to play a level and suddenly my number of active Incrediballs of each category was around the 40s and 50s. That and I got the Adventurous achievement twice so I got twice the reward!
Re: Rayman Adventures
First glitch happened to me before but second didn't. I have annoying glitch that in main menu it always asks me to do survey despite already doing it once. Is it same for you?

Re: Rayman Adventures
Didn't we hear before that most of the team from Origins and Legends is not working for Ubisoft anymore? Re: Rayman Adventures
That is indeed correct. Its unfortunate for them, but maybe new team does more unique ideas with new game whenever it gets made.

Re: Rayman Adventures
Maybe that's for the best, since I find Adventure's level design far better than anything in Legends.

Too bad the Ching Chongs aren't a good sign for that....OCG wrote:That is indeed correct. Its unfortunate for them, but maybe new team does more unique ideas with new game whenever it gets made.
Re: Rayman Adventures
I find the levels in Adventures super fun. Its fun to play when you crave something past Legends.
Re: Rayman Adventures
Do the new enemies have got an official name?
Re: Rayman Adventures
I recall them being referred to as "Swordsman" and "Hatsman". How boring.Haruka wrote:Do the new enemies have got an official name?

And don't forget Dual Swordsman.Bradandez wrote:I recall them being referred to as "Swordsman" and "Hatsman". How boring.Haruka wrote:Do the new enemies have got an official name?
Yeah, to be fair, enemy names have been pretty unoriginal since Origins...
