Re: What games are you currently playing?
So the long awaited TF2 update that adds competetive matchmaking into the game came today and when we get past the usual problems of nothing ever works on day 1, the update has a lot of great ideas, that are almost all done really really poorly.
The main point of issue I, and most people, have is the removal of Quickplay. The option to choose a gamemode you wanted to play, and then if you wanted to a specific map, has been repalced with a new matchmaking alternative called Casual mode, that adds xp based Ranks, basically stops the game from putting you in an empty server, and basically nulifies autobalance. It's basicaly the new competetive mmode, with more players per team, less strict rulesets and less rewards. However, gone is the option to choose a specific game mode, and gone is the option to choose a speciofic map. what does stay over from Comp though is a penalty for leaving, you know, for Casual matches.
The new competetive mode is pretty much whats advertised on the tin and I imagine a lot of players who wanted this will be happy with it. However, all the games I've tried so far have had people leave early and void the match.
Besides that there's a new WAR campaign too, similar to how Sniper Vs Spy and Soldier VS Demo worked before, this time its Pyro Vs Heavy, and how it works is you choose a side, that gives your side 1 point, every point you gain in game after that is another point for your team. At the end of the campaign the character with the most points will get an update focused on them first, featuring rebalancing, new weapons, etc. My problem with this is I feel its a null point, they've already said both classes will be getting updates in the future, so I don't see a point in getting one soonmner than the other, if anything, pyro needs to be dealt with first since statistically he's the most underpowered class in the game and needs some serious buffs, whilst heavy is kinda fine as is and doesn't really need an update, at all, but the fact it's the most underpowered/underloved class in the game vs the face of it, it kind of puts heavy at a seriously unfair advantage.
Really the best parts of the update are what is usually the most despised parts of past updates, the new taunts and cosmetic stuff, though there's no new cosmetic items in the game with this update the rocket jumper and sticky jumper both got remodels, hopefully to better signify they're training weapons to newer players, since neither of them do damage. The remodels have clipping issues in first person but look nice so I'm okay with them.
There are 4 new taunts, the sad wah wah trombone for Soldier, a disco dance for spy, a spring baloonicorn for Pyro and That one Tom Jones dance for scout that will never be unusual. Really these are probably the est taunts they've added to the game, I actually really like all of them.
This update has supposedly been in the work for 3 years, but it really doesn't show it, its a mess of ideas that are only here because they're succesful in CS:Go and DOTA, but really have no place in tf2. Its strange too, I came back to f2 after I quickly lost interest in Overwatch, now both TF2 and Overwatch have competetive modes, and are both complete messes (from what I hear anyway).
So except Ricochet 2 to come out next year, with a competitive mode on day 1, being the only mode you can play and also you need to have a mobile linked to your steam account or pay money to gain access to it.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Been playing Persona 3 FES since I finished Persona 4 Golden. Seems to be pretty identical to P4 in gameplay, only much harder.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I did a Luigi's Mansion marathon yesterday, I actually really like this even a lot more than I remember. It's the only GameCewb game I've revisited that didn't feel like it aged poorly at all, I love how well the gameplay floats and that there's always a new little challenge or goal to focus on. I guess Dark Moon is still better in technical terms, but I think I prefer this one a little more - the presentation of this game is something Nintendo'll probably never do again.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I dedicated last weekend to the Solus Project, much as I probably should dedicate (half of) this weekend to Record Day. It has to be said, they're worlds apart, no pun intended!
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I played Mario Kart Double Dash earlier today, lot of fun
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I played some Terra Battle earlier today, the mobile game by the creator of Final Fantasy. It's pretty good! Though you have to put a lot of time in it... time that I don't have. :/
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm into Undertale, Mighty n°9 and Pokémon Shuffle right now.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I finished Stephen's Sausage Roll recently (phew).
So now I think I will try Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, and maybe Firewatch.
Later, I will begin Bloodborne!
