Dartofthedavros wrote:I played Golden too, but I was more specifically referring too the spin-off sequels. In them it's shown that Rise, Noato and Yu (the protagonist) move back to "the big city," with Rise and Noato confidently going back to their jobs, while Chie decides to become an officer and Kanji expands Tatsumi Textiles to add in his various sewing skills. I can't remember what Yukiko does but Yusuke procrastinates and Teddie stays a pervy store mascot. The P3 cast do various things too, Mitsuru and Aigis lead a police division specializing in shadows, Akihiko and Fuuka help them but are also college students, Junpei's a little league coach, Yukari an actor/model, and Ken is a middle schooler, and Koromaru lives with Ken. I find it cool that even though they are unnecessary spin-offs they still continue the lore of these characters quite well.
Ah I do remember at the end of the social links for few of those characters in P4 they expressed those decisions.
Yeah I should get around to playing the spin offs though a friend of mine whose big on the Persona series told me the story for the spin offs are not so great and come off as a bit fanservice-ish, but I'll still probably check them out anyways. I REALLY want to see what happened to the P3 characters the most now that they're grown ups.
Dartofthedavros wrote:In the case of Aegis however, it feels like they only went halfway on the idea resulting in her coming off as creepy more than anything else until she starts developing her consciousness.
Though I suppose it's a bit understandable considering her origin and what she did to MC. While we do see her start to learn what it means to "live" towards the end of P3, I feel one of the only strong points of The Answer was she got some really good character development in it. She finally found a reason to live without the need to protect the MC.
Darofthedavros wrote:The Answer is in no way worth playing unless you really want the experience of playing it, and it is some of the most unforgiving bullshit I have ever played.
I've been told it was stupidly difficult (I can't imagine having to play without the use of the Persona compendium). Though if it means anything I'm playing through Shin Megami Tensei IV right now which is a pretty tough game on its own.
Dartofthedavros wrote:If there was a "side" I most agree with it would probably be Junpei's, as he's the only one that seems to see the full picture without denying anything and just wants to go home.

Yukari was being INCREDIBLY selfish in her decision (even Mitsuru didn't agree with her, but only sided with her because of her bond with Yukari) and only made me dislike her more, she wanted to stop the protagonist from sealing himself, which would inevitably bring about the fall, she just wasn't thinking about how stupidly reckless of an idea it was. I mean, I think everyone aside from Yukari practically had the right idea of not wanting to travel back in time before the fight with Nyx, Junpei was just the only one who seemed to think this fighting was pointless. It just saddens me to see that everything the group went through and yet majority does not hesitate in fighting, it just seems so... unlike them.

Just got the Steam version of Oblivion. Giving it another playthrough after like 5 years or so. Can't wait to do the Dark Brotherhood questline again; so much better than the one on Skyrim.

I beat Half-Life 2: Episode 1 today for the second time. Now that it's now new to me anymore I'm kinda, I dunno, this is not the best chapter of Half-Life. There's nothing really new, the environments are mostly the same settings with some changes in lighting, and it's basically like a couple hour extension of HL2's final chapters. And something more a fault of the PS3 port is that the loading times are just ridiculous when you have puzzles that involve risky jumps that might need a couple tries.

Otherwise it's just as good though, Alyx joining you throughout the game is a great addition and the first chapter is actually one of the best in the whole trilogy. I just wish it was a little more like Episode 2, which actually introduces new enemies, environments, a new character, etc, and seems way more in touch with the flow of the main game.

Dead Space again, the game is so intense that you share something really intimate with Isaac, his heartbeat, you can hear it all the time, and you finally end up to have the same.
Curiously, in Dead Space 3, he breaks the fourth wall in his logs.

I think it's kind of elevated itself to my favourite with this run, it's like every 30 minutes it's being another breakthrough in game design. It's one of the rare games that's completely conscious about how the player is going to react and stay engaged throughout.

As of lately after my Persona trip, I've decided to save the spin offs for another time and instead I'm playing the series that started Persona: Shin Megami Tensei.
Though specifically I'm starting IV. And it's a really awesome RPG (easily the best on 3ds), while also pretty difficult. And I love it's post apocalyptic themes the game has while introducing various factions with differing ideologies on what the outcome of Tokyo should be. It definitely has a very interesting while also very dark atmosphere (compared to the Persona titles).

I'm playing The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, a 2D exploration game set in a post-apocalyptic flooded Earth.

The soundtrack is gorgeous, and the pixel-art gives a really nice atmosphere.
But bosses are hard. And it's kind of a game based on bosses. Like Shadow of the Colossus.
But it's sooo pretty. *_*
But so hard. =(

It's a cool challenge overall.

On another note, I will surely try AM2R. Wasn't planning it initially, but since Nintendo decided to kill a project with so much dedication from the creators… Screw them, it deserve to be played! It certainly will be better than anything Nintendo has produced recently anyway.

Agreed. Probably the most immersive FPS game ever, due to how much consideration went into the game design. The mechanics, especially using the gravity gun, are timeless too, imo.

Finished kirby planet robobot and I can safely say that in terms of platforming its rather easier then triple deluxe, but I still enjoyed the plot and setting.

Replaying Rage, at nightmare difficulty setting now.
I strangely find the game easier, it must be because I got familiar with the game's mechanics and world.
