Re: General Pokémon Thread
I found a 1000+ CP Pidgeot this morning, couldn't be bothered to waste ultra balls so it ran away. It's no more use than a 10 CP Pidgey if you're gonna transfer it.

Nice, I don't have Scyther and Onix.
Re: General Pokémon Thread
You silly young people with your iPhones and your Pokémon Go, you forgot how to play regular Pokémon and you outright ignore me.Pirez wrote:Hey guys, I'm currently building a Mew for a rain team. I envision it as a defensive (he is careful in nature), assault-vest all-out attacker who could handle the checks of said rain team. Any suggestion?
I ended up making a assault-vest Mew with Ice punch, fire punck, Psycho cut and earthquake.

I like the way Pirez thinks not answering = ignoring because it couldn't possibly mean we don't have an answer for him or anything.
Either way i'd say to hell with Fire Punch and put Drain Punch on it because Ice Punch and Earthquake got you covered for most things Fire would take down except for maybe Ice which is sorted with Drain which would also give you super against those nasty dark types especially.
EDIT : Oh yeah, Drain Punch specifically because of that HP recover for a defensive set, only alternative I see Mew getting is Superpower which would work better for all offensive.

Fire punch was added to counter specifically Ferrothorn who is left unchecked by all the other Pokémen on my team (ice punch is there to cover DemeterosLandorus). I already have a Coatox Toxicroak with Drain Punch, so I figured it wasn't really needed.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Sorry Pirez, I don't care for anything after Generation II, and I still prefer Generation I anyway, so I don't know half of the moves you're talking about nor do I have a fucking clue what a Ferrothorn is.
In fact, I even thought you were trolling us the first time.

A Genwunner in our midst, for shame.
In all seriousness though, I do wonder if and how they'll manage to get the 700+ lot in. Not to mention that with Gen 7, there'll be even more new 'uns.

There's no such thing as a Pokémon game with Dragonair catchable in the wild.
I thought they kept some out? I played Ruby once and I'm pretty sure some Pokémon weren't present in it or Sapphire.Master wrote:In all seriousness though, I do wonder if and how they'll manage to get the 700+ lot in. Not to mention that with Gen 7, there'll be even more new 'uns.

Time to stop being a conservative shitlord and get with the times Humch, Gen IV is the best generation because I grew up with it and that's why it's better.
I don't think they put all Pokemon in the games anymore, "catching them all" got kinda ruled out once they hit 500+ and usually the games try to stir you into using the new ones anyway.

Don't listen to these chaps Hunch, go play another RPG series instead
Re: General Pokémon Thread
Btw, are Pokemen games worth playing on an emulator? All the DS ones are apparently old enough to be going up in price again and I'm not dropping 50 bucks to play them, but using a keyboard and two small emulated DS screens seems like it'd be a bit shit.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
I remember seeing a lot of emulated battles back in our YouTube days, but I dunno if they controlled well. IIRC though, the touch screen wasn't used so much so as a gameplay element as it was an interface, you used it for the battle options, Poketch/Pokenav, Pokedex etc. I think you might be able to get away with it.

I'm sure you can get Pokémon Red for cheaper than that, and it's not like you want to play any other Pokémon game.Keane wrote:Btw, are Pokemen games worth playing on an emulator? Re: General Pokémon Thread
It's no bad, Pokemon is one of those finer DS games where only minor mini-game esque features actually need the touch screen. And you certianly should be playing them, even at least for the Gen 2 remakes.Keane wrote:Btw, are Pokemen games worth playing on an emulator? Come on, you could at least play "Tales of" games.Hunchman801 wrote:I'll go for Golden Sun then.Rayfist wrote:Don't listen to these chaps Hunch, go play another RPG series instead

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Yea, but avoid the steam port, not to say its unplayable or anything but the GC version seems to be the superior of them all. So either emulate it or get a copy for Gamecube.
