I mean this in the friendlies way possible, but don't you actually question your sanity sometimes if you go through this crazy setup of glitches rather than using the IPG right away? :P Cool that you found ways to work around it though, if you can cover the entire part with these techniques, the differences between IPG and non-IPG play should shrink significantly.

Well, at the beginning i thought that you´d have to use only two glitches or so, but then it simply got more and more. So yes, i totally get your point; meanwhile the non-IPG version in part 2 seems to be more glitchy and ridiculous than the IPG-version, whereas the difference in points gets smaller and smaller. However I don´t want to play THIS non-IPG version anyway, i simply wanted to find out what´s the optimal score you can get.
I´m already looking forward to leave part 2 and continue with part 3, this part will be definitely more fun. I guess part 2 will still take me some time though.

By the way, something i forgot in my last post about part 2: I found out what are the conditions to make the two hoodblaster (the ones just before the room with the balloons and the matuvu) spawn:
1.) You must have taken the blue can
2.) The aircraft must have appeared and come to a stand (near the single piggybank).
3.) You must take the green can
You can change the order of step 1.) and 2.); it´s just important that step 3.) comes at last.

Did you actually play R3 somewhen in the last months, if so, how are you doing with FC? :)

So basically you always use the two ESJs to return to the 1st area, then get the lockjaw, activate the superswim glitch, swim whereever you like and play the combos with a powerup:

Grim keeper combo: You swim to the upper platform of the 3rd area, get the single yellow gem, kill the grim keeper below in combo and finish with the piggybank and the red gem; all with the lockjaw. (1240 points)
Secret room combo: You swim to the secret room. Then, while swimming, you collect most of the yellow gems which are at your height (As you know, you can´t swim up- or downwards). Then you can get one of the throttle copter powerups and collect the rest, still in the same combo. (13630 points)
Last room combo: You swim to the grim keeper room. Then quickly run to the last room (This way should be faster, than swimming directly to the last room). Now you can play the combo with the lockjaw at the beginning, the powerup will run out at some point though (Testing and recording it won´t be fun :P ). You can also kill the very last hoodblaster (the one with the yellow can) with the shock rocket in time. You just have to quickly kill the hoodboom before. (depending on where the lockjaw will run out, i´d say 5500-6000 points)

I succeeded in all these combos, so they´re possible. The only problematic combo is the first one of the part. The idea is to combine the balloon combo with the matuvu-tribelle combo by killing the last hoodstormer (from the balloon combo) from a great distance, then perform a SJ and kill one of the two hoodblaster (from the matuvu-tribelle combo) in time. Then you can continue with the rest. (In the optimal case 24020 points)
Also we shouldn´t forget the wooden door. (20 points)

→ The maximum in part 2 should be between 44k and 45k, however in case the idea for the 1st combo won´t work, the score might be a little bit lower.
The maximum in part 1 is 45930 by now and part 3 should give us at least 32810 points (considering the final combo will work completely, because that might be a problem). With all the old ideas even more than 40k points would be possible in part 3, however it´s very unlikely.
I will assume the 1st combo in part 2 and the final combo in part 3 will work:
→ Worst case: 45930 + 44k + 32810 = 122,740
→ Best case: 45930 + 45k + 40k = about 131k (However the maximum could go only up to 126k)
That means a new maximum is more than likely :D , only the part of the final combo, where you have to use three piggybanks to keep the combo alive, makes me doubt.
With the IPG you can get even more points in part 2 (over 2k more), so maybe 126k in LOTLD will be possible soon?
From June onwards i´ll have (for some time) much more free time, so i´ll be more active then and probably finish the investigations and videos in LOTLD part 2 and 3. Then i´ll also improve my score and start investigating some other levels. :)

Not too bad. :wink: When you´ll always try to make the combos as long as possible, take worthful items (matuvu, tribelle, green gem, ...), if possible, at the end of a combo and always get a powerup before you start a combo, you´ll surely improve your score very quickly by many points; you even don´t need to use any complicated combos or glitches.

Probably a cheater. I can't see it being possible to get a score that high, especially on PS2.

Hi guys, I'm back after years. I want to appologize to those who knew me because back then I cheated in some R3 worlds for some frustration reasons or whatever. My legit score was about 800k points. I want you to understand that I was 13 (if i'm not mistaken) and immature, and maybe stupid. I'm 19 now btw. I had deleted my R3 scores and all back when I left RaymanPC. I want to give a try again to R3 now that I'm not the same. I'll probably play on PS2 emulation.

Edit: When I saw the ranking, I was shocked. WTF have you done MandM1981 ?! 900k you mad bro :o

Back when I was a casual player who just wanted to know what the highest possible Score in R3 was, I typed "Rayman 3 maximum score" on Youtube, and your 109.009-Points-Video for HH was the first thing that popped up. That one video pushed me towards being more "competitive" in Rayman 3 and wanting to know more about Combos and stuff like that, so in a sense, you were my inspiration for getting into this scene. Glad to see that you're back! :D

Small update on my little project: I managed to get the No-Glitch-Score for CF to ~109.500 Points after Part 3, but I have barely played in a year or so. Seeing how I don't know when I'll find the time and motivation to pick up the game again, I don't know when I can look into that again, but I figured I'd just let you guys know that the project is still alive.

As Maz, I can say that for a great part it were your videos which draw my interest to more "serious" scoring. Back then, when I found your channel, I even didn't know this website. Anyway, good to know that you're here again. :)

Since your last update (108.150 pts.) you found ~1400 points. Did you improve the final combo?

In the last months I didn´t play R3 either, partly probably because LOTLD2 took away my motivation. However not long ago i picked up the game again and did some testing in LOTLD 3. I have two updates:
1.) In the blue tower, I managed to take the gems from the last staircase and the gems from the staircase below in one combo. This should allow us to take all gems in this room in a single big combo. The powerup is also no problem.
YRYYR|YYYYY|YYYYY|RYYRY|YYYYYYYYYYYYYY --> 3620 points. This is an improvement of 620 points.
2.) I (almost) managed to find out how to make the hoodlum in the hallway after the room with the hoodo and the rocket stay at his place i.e. how to prevent him from running to the next room. When i play similarly as Haruka did, then the hoodlum will always be in the hallway.
After a few tests my guess is that the hoodblaster will only run to the next room, when a) you are quite near to him and b) when he is on camera (the wall inbetween doesn't matter). That means, when you fix the camera on e.g. the wall on the back and keep it like that, then the hoodlum shouldn't run away. When i´ll find out more i´ll try to make a video with clear instructions.
Edit: It seems there are a few more conditions to not make the hoodblaster run to the next room; i'll have to make some more tests.

I beat the game a few days ago (maybe a week now?) to get a new grip on it after years and posted my first score around 130k or something, as I rushed. Today I tried the knaaren glitch. Finally understood how to pass this s*cker on pc. One has to lure the knaaren, then when he is about to touch one, one has to stick to the left wall. If one is at the exact spot, and the knaaren correctly lured, one can make a step towards the knaaren, then one is projected behind the knaaren. I may make a vid of it.
I finished FC with 36539 points. In part 6 the final combo didn't count :destroy: I mean the part of skating after the green gem for 3000. How to avoid that in the future?

Edit: the combo was 590 or 510 points so I should have 37000 in FC.

Edit3: My current goal is to reach a high score in each level without spending much time and effort, that's to say I'm going for 600k. And I was wondering, where is DTUCC master?

Edit4:In DOTK part 3 I managed to get the green gem with the blue can. I had trouble with bandicam when I tried to record my gameplay, I mean my game speed was highly increased, I was like "what the fuck is going? is Rayman on steroids?". I'm pretty sure it prevented my super jump tries, to the point I got super pissed. Anyway ill find a way or another. Other than that I'm at the part with Reflux with 56767 points. I'm gonna beat his a**.

EDIT 5: I got 59767 after reflux. part7 it's time to make calculations for max score: if we need 97639+20 points in part 8 for max score, i need 97660 right? Before the green gems combo, the walkthrough says 72.490 points. After the combo: 99.650 points. 99.650-72.490=27160 points. Non-combo + combo points of that green gem combo result in a total of 27160 points. So i need to have 97660-27160 points before playing that combo: so i need 70500 points. I got fewer points than that before going for the green gems combo and i had left yellow gems in the beginning to adjust. Now I have exactly 97.657 points and I'm going for part 8. I hope I haven't made any mistake for max score.

Not bad as a first attempt after so many years. About part 6: I myself had the same problem a few months ago and Cut kindly recorded a >>video<<. Meanwhile I also made a video of the entire part including this trick, but Cuts video suffices I guess.

In R3 this problem never occured to me. However when I tried recording a few races in Rayman M some years ago, the game speed also increased significantly. I never tried fixing it though, so I don't know what's the cause.

97.657 should be enough going by the walkthrough and the video. Great score! :)

By the way, I recorded the new stairs combo in LOTLD. It takes some practice, but at least it can be done. >>Video<<

I'm at the doctor office, screwed 98 last points, but i'm gonna retry right now, and even film it.
Edit: Forgot to say it's because I wasn't hit enough, so the last black lum didn't fit into the 99999 counter, it was 99991 after last black lum.
Edit2: Got the same overspeed problem, tried fraps but it lowers my fps to 30. Gotta try xsplit broadcaster.
Edit3: xsplit sucks! f*cking heavy and useless features. any ideas?
EDIT4: changed settings in fraps: 10fps capture + no sound = playable r3. I filmed part 8. But it will surely be too long to upload.

Edit 6: I forgot to say that I'm playing on pc and not on ps2 emulation even if i told I would try ps2 version.
Edit 7: Played LS: 40000+ points, i missed the last tribelle. Playing SBTC, part 1 almost 17k, didn't play more than 30 min. Part 2, my keyboard doesn't allow me to hold more than 2 keys :pascontent: , so basically I'm unable to turn while my fist is charged :grrrrrr: and that drove me especially crazy today in this damn part 2... as most combos involve fist charging, obviously. So after lavicraft combos ruined by that worthless keyboard, I rushed part 2, knowing that my other combos would also suffer.
I also admit that I lack training and patience and experience for some combos in part 2 :| . Part 2 60.743 points for this time. I'll do my best for part 3.
Edit 8: snowboading part: tons of combo. End score: 74.472 points. Didn't get the green gem.

Edit 9: Can someone tell me what the hell is this ?! : "SBTC: 133.729 (could be more)" :shock:

I have some problems with my keyboard as well. Following combinations aren't possible: Up, left, charging fist; down, right, charging fist; strafe, up or down, charging fist. However other combinations which involve 3 keys are possible, like strafe, left or right, charging fist and others. It's quite annoying, but as long as we won't change our keyboard I guess we'll have to deal with it. :|

I guess you want to know how to achieve this score. If so, then you may take a look at a post >>a few pages back<<, in which MandM roughly explains the general impovement. It is due to some extra kickflips which obviously make the combo pretty large. Unfortunately MandM didn't tell us yet what extra kickflips he used, but if someone really tries to find them, I guess he/she would, when he/she uses the post as a help.

By the way, in case someone's interested, I made a new video for a combo in LOTLD 2. Video.

EDit: I'm in BOM part 3 since yesterday. I struggled to do the extended island combo in part 2. Part 3 is just horrible. I'm going for a different beginning and don't restart for the hoodlum to survive.

Edit 2: In part 3 of BOM, I can't shoot the 2nd muddibong shit, and it's always fucking my combo, goddamn shyt. :x Plus weakening all hoodlums each time I restart is killing me, and I have no other choice.

With this combos I hope to find a new maximum in LOTLD. Maz and I already finished improving part 1. One can reach 45,990 points. In a video I show the way how to play the part, but it includes only attempts as the combos are very hard.
In part 2 I'd say that about 46,360 points are possible when you want to play completely sick combos. With somewhat "normal" combos you'd lose 1k-2k.
In part 3 you can collect 3,820 points before the final combo. In the optimal case (that means you need the sick combos in part 2) you could have 96,170 points before playing the final combo.
The final combo itself is in the testing phase yet, so I'm not entirely sure whether it's possible, but it doesn't look bad right now. The combo, as I have it in mind, yields 5,350 basic points and 24,530 combo points. The final item is a wooden door. According to that you could lose up to 1,511 points and the maximum score would be 124,539 points. With an even harder final combo the maximum could be improved by 1,500 points.
If you are interested then here is a video which shows how the final combo looks like. However some parts changed a little and it's very badly played. :?

PC-Players have luck in this case: When you return to the desktop during the cutscene in the right moment, then the muddibogs will freeze and the hoodblaster survives. It's a little bit unfair for non-PC-Players, but I think they're okay with it as it's not a very great advantage. :winkgrin:

Edit: I found an interesting video from RibShark in which you can see a SJ in the snowboard level. I'm not sure, whether it could be useful for scoring, but maybe...?
