Yeah... It definitely didn't get as much attention compared to other handheld titles, like battle network and mega man zero (which I love), still I really like the concept of an open world mega man game and I really like the addition of the models, still it was surprisingly popular enough to get a sequel.

Playing Asemblance, a psychological thriller inspired by Twilight Zone, X-Files, and Black Mirror. It's a mystery game where we're in a machine able to simulate our memories. But soon we're confronted with a past that we don't want to remember, and we are not sure is those memories are real, or what is actually real.

It has a little bit of P.T (without being horrific) and the Stanley Parable. The game puts us in a short cycle, and we have to find secrets and alternative roads to progress. It's nice… But not as excellent or mind-bending as it is said to be. The story is okay but never really challenging, it's a correct thriller about a broken couple (can't say more without spoiling). And the mechanics themselves can be a little bit frustrating, making you wonder ”Where do the developers want me to look now ?” almost all the time. Sure it has excellent surprises, but searching them can be tedious.

It's still a good game for now. It has very good moments of tensions, and a captivating mystery. I like how narration is done through hidden documents and details: you don't have to read them immediately, but since you frequently come back everywhere you learn a lot by just looking around. And sometime you find subtle changes from the last time you came, these kind of details are a nice way to reveal some informations.

I also started Metroid 2! :D What? AM2R you say? What even is this? I obviously bought a Wii-U exclusively for this game, as well as a new monitor and sound system, to play this game legally on the eShop like any honest citizen. :P
It is a very beautiful game for GameBoy. It has colors, fancy pixel-art, great musics and sound effects, a save system, options menu, it's playable with a 360 pad, it's in 60fps… Wow.

Well anyway, it's a really great game. A little bit hard, but nothing unmanageable. The level-design is also pretty cool, even if a bit linear compared to Super Metroid.

I’m playing Rayman Revolution and I’m stuck. How do I get to the Whale Bay? The water is piranha-infested and I can’t go to the upper part cuz something is attacking Rayman.

EDIT: I figured it out.

I know, that always confused me, we call Star Wars a trilogy !
And the word "sixlogy" or sevenlogy doesn't exist.

Hexology or Octology might fit better.

I'm playing Suikoden I. It's really fun! I'm looking forward to Suikoden II, but I have many other games on my backlog as well, so I'll likely finish some of those first.

That's hexalogy and heptalogy respectively.
As for Star Wars, those are three trilogies, the original one, the prequel trilogy and the (upcoming) sequel trilogy. A trilogy of trilogies! :o

I agree with calling the Harry Potter video game series a trilogy though -- the only really good games in that were the first three. Flipendo!

Oh man, Drol, you have such awesome taste in RPGs!
I want to get both Suikoden 1 and 2, but 2 seems to be really god damn expensive.

I recommend trying out the SMT titles if you're looking for a really hardcore JRPG. While the series lacks in graphics, it makes up for it with really awesome gameplay and RPG elements, and a really dark but cool atmosphere.

Well the 4th game in the series can be fun if you play it with 2 or 3 people.

I never played it alone so I can't really tell how that is.

I've only played the second and third Harry Potter, never understood why they changed so much basic stuff between them. (Also I somehow didn't even know they'd made any more since then)

Thanks! I'll definitely try out SMT sometime. I keep a list for games I want to try out and it's been on there for quite a while now, but I keep buying new stuff and only rarely get to play older games nowadays. :P What do you think would be a good starting point for the SMT series?

I actually didn't play those games, only their demos. They did look a bit like a return to the older games' formula, but I dunno... the games just didn't feel the same without the fun atmosphere from the first 3 games, the platforming, and Jeremy Soule's beautiful music. :(
I feel the same about the movies, actually. They lost a lot of their charm with the third movie and especially the fourth one, which made everything a lot darker and more serious than it should have become.

I actually enjoyed the serious and dark change, it showed Harry's hard fate and how his priorities changed as he became older.

Jeremy Soule gave so much identity to the first three games! They shared also some similarities in the architecture of Hogwart, as well as some mechanics like Flipendo. That dissociated them rom the movies, to create their own universe. Actually they even took some scenes of the book that weren't in the movies (although the dialogs were terrible, but that's part of the charm :p).

The Order of the Phoenix and the Half Blood Prince had both this idea of gigantic open world with a great fidelity to the movies. I would actually like to play them again casually just to wonder in Hogwart.
Problem is, it was a bad open-world. A lot of similar corridors and pieces that make it difficult to find your way. You had to follow trails to go where the game told you to go. And the games was only made of little task repeated everywhere. Especially the sixth one, which has three mini-games repeated over and over.

The Chamber of Secrets was the best in my opinion. Its open-world wasn't huge, but full of interactions and especially secrets. Plus, the unlocked spells encouraged to explore it several time. This way you quickly appropriated it, and you were eager to see what was hiding. Unlike the castle of 5 & 6, which is impressive, but just gets you lost and rarely offer anything new.

Then there are the last two, Call of Potter, which are just ridiculous. They are not even good third person shooters. Sometime they are just painful.

Also there's the fourth one. I don't know much about him. Nobody cares about the fourth one. Weren't there mini-games in it?

It is basically a linear sort of weird point and click pseudo RPG with tons of glitches and painful game mechanics.
It is the Daikatana of the Potter games, what I liked in the chamber of the secrets, was the collectibles, hidden across hogwards that let you access various chambers on the upper levels of Hogwarts. And also the fact that you can be actually alone and that you not always carry someone with you.

I still occasionally have nightmares caused by my sense of inadequacy because I never found all those Silver Wizarding Cards myself (I resorted to buying them from bean traders once). I sometimes tell myself I must dig out the game and try again. :bad:
