Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
Great, I'll probably test it tonight to see how it works with Linux

"It is a 16:9 patch which bypasses cd-check error if you insert CD2."
Is this the medicine for CHRdutch » Tue Sep 13, 2016 12:31 pm ?
He said "No I just modded the standard exe, which requires CD 2".
Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
It looks like.
You should just insert CD2, and it probably works.

Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
Ah, so apparently the cutscene fis is 2.88gb, thus will wait, like, a lot.
Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
I think it's good, because it masks reasons of recompression of R3 cutscenes.
Probably they have better bitrate than original.

Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
I believe you but thus ain't the problem.
The problem is the file size.
I cannot download such a thing.

Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
Ask Shadorino for making a highly compressed version especially for you, or just take your smartphone for some ride and catch some fast free Wi-FI. Especialy to the place when you spending usually more time.
I don't only know if mega app supports resuming of download in case of problems.

How about this idea;CHRdutch wrote: Mon Sep 19, 2016 2:53 pm
But it works nonetheless!
You have the skill to make widescreen exe by yourself with hex editor.
So GCW has No-CD Rayman M exe, could you start to make that No-CD exe for widescreen play ?

Using No-CD exe as a base for widescreen exe, you may not have "Please insert Rayman M CD2" problem, I wonder.

Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
You know, initially, the first exe didn't require inserting disc. But the problem appeared on other OS.
Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
If things are as you feel, you shall be patient when CD2 is required.CHRdutch wrote:(also, the only reason I was capable of making a widescreen exe was because Ribshark posted the instructions)
And if even CD2 is in the drive and you get the nag with deton24's exe, I will recommend you to discard such OS, which you did not tell clearly what it is just complaining widescreen exe did require CD2.
But keep this in your mind, I in W10 Redstone 64bit, had no problem with his exe when CD2 is in the drive.
Re: Rayman 3: Widescreen Patch
So has anyone already made a Wide-Screen .exe patch for Rayman Arena? I know you guys made one for Rayman M, but I don't see one for Rayman Arena.
I made one a few months ago, so if anyone wants it, just let me know.

Just paste link here.
Re: Better Rayman 3 (previously: Rayman 3 Widescreen Patch)
I have updated the patch. It now contains an installer, and a completely rebuilt configuration program, that will allow you to change more settings than the one built into the game did! Additionally, I have decided to rename the project to "Better Rayman 3"! I've kept the old patch available in case the new one doesn't work for anyone.

Re: Better Rayman 3 (previously: Rayman 3 Widescreen Patch)
Cool! I'll try it out tonight.
Re: Better Rayman 3 (previously: Rayman 3 Widescreen Patch)
I tried it and for some reason the game now runs in a much lower fps. I'm not sure if it's because of the Better Rayman 3 program or not, but I've not experienced it before. Other than that it seems to work fine. Is there any way to uninstall it though or do you need to manually remove the files? In that case, exactly which files does it add?
Re: Better Rayman 3 (previously: Rayman 3 Widescreen Patch)
That's very strange. This version changes nothing about the game's code compared to the last patch. It only adds an installer and the new configuration program. To uninstall, delete the "scripts" folder, the dsound.dll and R3_Setup_DX8.exe, then rename R3_Setup_DX8_orig.exe back to R3_Setup_DX8.Carrot-master wrote:I tried it and for some reason the game now runs in a much lower fps. Hm, this is odd. I removed all those files now and it's still running in low framerate. Guess it's something with my computer then...RibShark wrote:That's very strange. Re: Better Rayman 3 (previously: Rayman 3 Widescreen Patch)
I've just thought of one more thing. In the windows command prompt, can you navigate to the Rayman 3 folder and type the command "sdbinst -u Rayman3.sdb", and tell me if that fixes it? If it does, then that will narrow the issue to one thing, which I can implement in a different way that won't cause frame drops on some computers.Carrot-master wrote:Hm, this is odd. I just get this: "Error: couldn't open SDB 'C:\GOG Games\Rayman 3\Rayman3.sdb'."RibShark wrote:I've just thought of one more thing. If Rayman3.sdb was some file which came with your installer it's removed now as I tried reinstalling the game to see if that helped.
