Maybe so, but it's still UbiSoft's property and is still in their hands, most dumps tend to come from sold prototypes and thereafter leaked. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't think I've heard of prototypes being dumped online by their original developers, at least, while they're still in employment with their respective studios.

Oh my, this is fantastic :D! Now fingers crossed that he shows some video footage demonstration. I would love to see it working.

Ancel may dump the game in case the cartridge stops working, but I highly doubt he could ever release it.
Also, in the first pic the cartridge is connected to an odd converter, anyone knows what it is?

Looking at the image, it seems to say "SUPER ADAPTOR," perhaps a way to allow for non licensed titles to be played on a SNES?
Quick Google, it seems to be this:

They probably used this converter through the development of the prototype.

Amazing! :D

A tech world would make sense, considering what the story was originally supposed to be…

Half-Life 2, Doom 1 and Wolfenstein 3d ? I think so.
After 24 years it is considered Abandonware so they don't have any reason to keep it secret, after all System Shock released its code source nearly 20 years after their game coming out.
If they don't put it online we could still call...

HL2 was from Valve being hacked, and Doom and Wolfenstein, if memory serves, was because Id used to believe in open sourcing their products after some time. The same can't be said of UbiSoft, this is the same lot who prevented UbiArt from being more widely available.

Wasn't that leaked after the devs went bust? Perhaps I should've said "while still under employment," as it'd make sense for devs to leak stuff afterwards.

Anytime, TCRF is a nice site to peruse if you're intrigued about prototype and game development leftover stuff.

Hasn't it happened with a Saints Row PSP game cancelled?

Huh, just read it up, you're right. Still, I do feel it's more the exception than the norm.

Wow, that's really interesting! The way Ancel is so open about a lot of stuff now (like BG&E2) and is already posting more pictures from that prototype, I can totally see him releasing it one way or another. Maybe as a Switch version, like he is saying. [Maybe he will do the same for the RRR prototype one day.]

[A guy can dream, eh?]

Though given how it was never really released, couldn't he possibly release it on a greater range of platforms? As excited as I am about the Switch, I don't think I'd be able to get it at launch, or if I'd find it a justifiable purchase in the future.

Yeah I can definitely say I am enjoying the interactivity with Ancel lately.

The prototype was never finished though, if they were to publish it one way or another they'd have to polish it a bit.

Not likely.

I sure hope they will, I'm curious to see how it works on my psp SNES emulator.

A cool way of publishing it would be to make it a minigame in another title, like the cancelled Rayman 2 in the PlayStation version of the final game.
