I am not hyped, but I am positive about what Nintendo is attempting with the Switch. I certainly won't purchase it in release but if I ever get the system, Nintendo needs to convince me first with the offer they give (and maybe exclusive third parties offers too).

Already my first huge concern, the console will have only 4gb of ram.

This would be perfectly fine for a handheld, but a console that's coming out in 2017!? God damn it Nintendo... are we gonna do this again?

Wait, where did that come from? I haven't heard about this.
Edit: Found a source: http://wccftech.com/nintendo-switch-4gb ... b-storage/

Hmm, not sure what to make of this yet, I'll read it proper when I'm home.

I've read (in the comments of one article) that it's twice what the WiiU had, for one, and also that it's not as significant as it seems because the console will be cartridge-based, wheareas the PS4 and Xbone need it more to load stuff from the disc.

It would make sense to me, but then again I'm not a tech expert.

Remember the Wii U had 2GB RAM but only 1GB was usable for games while the other was reserved for the system.

Good luck getting Western 3rd Party support on this thing. Its going to be regulated to a Console that gets a bunch of Japanese Handheld games. Anyone defending that is very likely a Nintendrone.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see many western companies shelling out on the system for long unless Nintendo gives them an olive branch production-wise.

There's rumours going around that Nintendo's ceasing manufacture of the Wii U: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016- ... -this-week

It wouldn't surprise me if that was a real information. Given the commercial failure and the Switch almost knocking at the retail shops doors...

I just hope they'll keep supporting the Wii U to the users for a good while as they did with the Wii.

I sincerely doubt that'll happen, since the Wii U is an absolute failure in the market it's more likely that they'll be putting all their money on the Switch and 3DS next year since those will be able to turn up a profit.

>Millions of users.

You mean the millions of people who are already letting their consoles catch dust? I feel REALLY bad for the people who have Wii U as their primary console.
Anyways the rumor was just confirmed fake, this is why people should stop trusting shitty game journalism outlets (myself included).

Personally though, I think letting the Wii U go is a good idea. The console had it's run, it showed off what it could do. It had some pretty good games too.

By millions of users I talk about the total selling number, not the users that are actively playing the system as I also believe the number is significantly smaller.

The Wii U is not my primary system but at least I would appreciate to see the online services support being extended for a while, at least 2 years more as I think it is early to "give up" in users that decided to bet in it, myself included, despite of the poor sales. What I realistically see that is going to happen is Nintendo shutting off the Wii Shop Channel somewhere in the next months/year. Who is still buying games in a shop where there is no way to secure your purchases (like, if something happens to the Wii and it dies, the whole purchases go along with it)?

Saying that the production stoppage was a probable real information isn't the same thing as believing in it. Good to know it is not true.

It has got good games I still want to try somewhere in future. It will depend of the pricing offer too as the company is still quite stubborn in their price tags policy.

I wasn't referring to you with the primary console.

I was talking more so ending the console, that doesn't really mean ending the online.

Some were saying this was legitimate info, so...

There really is no reason why games should be $60 per title on that console. Some games are fun, but there is no justification for that price in a lot of titles.

It seems Nintendo's denying that they're discontinuing the Wii U: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/11/r ... this-week/

This is your fault, Brandon. You hated the Wii U so much, Nintendo killed it. Thanks a lot. :tssk:
