Further reading revealed that they were programming in Assembly, which is quite amazing, assembly is rather difficult to grasp.

Yeah, looks like this is an even older idea than the scrapped Jimmy thing.michelancel wrote:@haruka_tavares You're right ! Original game was taking place in a computer and the big villain was a computer virus . Rayman was just an employee in this big computer

The place might be some sort of simulated organic environment, just because it takes place in cyberspace doesn't mean it has to look all technological.
Re: Rayman himself
Tron Evolution anyone? Anon vs Abraxas, the first idea for Rayman I never would have guessed.Hunchman801 wrote:Yeah, looks like this is an even older idea than the scrapped Jimmy thing.michelancel wrote:@haruka_tavares You're right ! Oh shit. Cool to hear he still is interested in doing as much, even if it'll probably be a good long while before it happens.Master wrote: On the topic of a new Rayman game:Michel Ancel wrote:Wild and Bge2 before ☝

Coding is very fucking hard my friend. You really need to dedicate almost your whole life to it if you wish to get that good.Sabertooth wrote:Holy shit, Michel Ancel was my age when he did this. Why am I not making prototypes of wonderful video games?
Adsolution for example has been self teaching himself a lot lately and has made a lot of progress within the past 1-2 years? And now, Raytwol.
I took a C++ class, it was fun, but really fucking tough for me (don't worry, I passed), not sure if coding is up my alley. But I'm taking HTML right now and I find it far less frustrating.

Re: Rayman himself
Nah, I'd take coding in C# over HTML any day, though I'm not quite so good with some of the more advanced stuff, objects are still a point of contention, and I did not fare too well with multithreaded stuff. That being said, they do serve different purposes, so I guess it depends on what you want to do.
But yeah, I do envy those who have the talent to code things which allows for software and hardware of the magnitudes we've seen.

Re: Rayman himself
Well C# and C++ are definitely much harder than HTML from my experience, but I suppose it depends seeing as how minds work differently for some people.
Re: Rayman himself
It seems that other image of the prototype has surfaced!

Re: Rayman himself
Wonderful! these images seem to be in a more complete form of the project, may I ask where you found this photo?
Re: Rayman himself
I saw it from a Twitter post that Motormike reblogged.
Re: Rayman himself
Obviously doesn't confirm anything, but still pretty neat.
Re: Rayman himself
Well at least this shows he has some plans for a 3d Rayman game, for the far future.

Re: Rayman himself
Is that like an actual physical Uno set or is it some online/mobile game? Cause if it's the former then well...
Re: Rayman himself
I'd rather have a physical set.

I wish we'd get another game just so we can finally move past the Legends aesthetic.

The tubes or wires at the bottom don't look very organic to me, but whatever.Master wrote:The place might be some sort of simulated organic environment, just because it takes place in cyberspace doesn't mean it has to look all technological.
