My statement was mostly anecdotal, so I'll admit that I can't really say that much. I don't have much facts to that, just feeling. It's more an observation than racism/xenophobia. I will say it's probably a limited observation obviously since I have not looked at data to back up my claim there. I'll drop it due to that.Hunchman801 wrote:QFT.Keane wrote:I don't really understand why people are acting like the KKK is marching through the streets and rednecks are firing their guns in public? I've heard there were a few instances of harassment from both the winning and losing side, as is to be expected after elections where people are completely divided and emotions run high.
That's a bit racist and xenophobic.neo wrote:I think some white people can be awakened to it but not all, seems mostly white/russians are the types to not really understand or emphasize with why people had issues with Trump.

As I've been saying for awhile now, Trumps stance as a moderate has been a public thing for a long time, and it's hardily a surprise that a reality tv star would exaggerate his way into office, although people doing research outside their shallow, one-sided media outlet is a rarity these days isn't it?neo wrote:Lol at you. Probably shouldn't be so confident on something you have no experience on. Adsolution as well. Both candidates sucked, this is true. Trump was spouting bullshit left and right so I really can't tell what his true nature is (regarding his thoughts on races/cultures). Funnily enough he's flip flopping on some of the things he heavily supported, which is actually a good thing.Dart wrote:Adsolution wrote:Women, LGBT, Minority Races, having NOTHING to worry about. Credit taken then!neo wrote:I will give credit to those who predicted this. I'm just going to live as I always did. Probably.
Well to reiterate on what Ad, I live 30 minutes from Detroit (and technically live in an area referred to as Metro Detroit) and am transgender, although I rarely speak to often about the latter, as it tends to create more trouble than it's worth.neo wrote:I should re-phrase. He shouldn't be so confident in saying those groups of people have nothing to worry about without either A) Being one of those groups and/or B) Living in America to have the same perspective as them. Especially in saying 'NOTHING'. That's a bit too over-confident.
Quite frankly I've seen some pretty fucked up shit due to Hillary's loss, and no signs of these so called "racists" cropping up in DETROIT of all places (outside of the usual "pity me I'm black" mentality that's been brewing since 2010) I honestly think that if people learn to grow a spine and stand for what they believe in without converting to authoritarianism in the process (which SJWs and modern democrats have been doing, don't deny it!) we'll all get out off this fine. Without having to go to war with Russia too.neo wrote:Interesting. Guilty as charged for assuming. I am interested to hear why he thinks there is nothing to worry about, though. The issue of racists taking a stand, however small, is not nothing. I should be fine since I live in a city, but to those in rural states or parts, I am not sure. I have no statistics though.

I was just trolling you.neo wrote:My statement was mostly anecdotal, so I'll admit that I can't really say that much. I don't have much facts to that, just feeling. Quoting to alert you. I was looking for cutscenes of Rayman 2 and came upon this project you voiced for. Good stuff!Adsolution wrote:<snip>
Why’d you snip the quote’s content?neo wrote:Quoting to alert you. I was looking for cutscenes of Rayman 2 and came upon this project you voiced for. Good stuff!Adsolution wrote:<snip>

Thank you for clarifying it, I understand.neo wrote:Since it is unrelated to what I was talking about. It was the post at the top of this page so you know.
Yeah, I also get notifications when quoted.Master wrote:Ah, but by quoting Ad, RPC would give a notification to check what you said. phpBB3.1 niftiness, eh?

I already addressed this:The_Real_Razorbeard wrote:Let's say you're right on this point: to an oustider looking in, none of that is apparent, especially when it's all just text. You could have 10 different people read those posts, and you'd likely get 10 different interpretations. A couple might agree with you, a couple might agree with me, and a couple more might think we're both idiots.
I don't give a shit what their own personal interpretation of the post is, because it wasn't directed at them, and therefore isn't really their business. If they want to make it their business like you've just done, then their only concern should be whether or not there's actually a legitimate problem, and then digress once the air has been cleared. The last thing they should be doing is intervening to make some horrendously patronising, irrelevant point about political correctness when they themselves are the newcomer who doesn't yet understand the well-established culture of the room they've just walked into. That is the gayest excuse not to use a word I've ever heard.The_Real_Razorbeard wrote:The easiest solution is to simply not use the words that still have more inherent, targeted hatred perceived as being synonymous with them, whether they should or not. Plus, limiting your vocabulary in that manner can force you to be more creative with your humor anyways.
Adsolution wrote:There are plenty of words in our day-to-day vocabulary that were at one point considered taboo, and the fact that they aren't anymore was not in any way aided by the kind of worldview you're advocating.
