Re: Are you phone dependent?
I am on my phone now. So I would say so, yes.

The error's in the poll as well. I think you can fix that without resetting it?Master wrote:I just realised the error in the thread title, fixing that now.

Shouldn't do, if memory serves.

Ah, that's better! Although maybe we should reset it to get something more representative!

Fair point, problem with long running threads is that they involve long inactive members. Perhaps we should have an annual reset for these sort of threads.
Re: Are you phone dependent?
I mostly use my phone as an mp3 player, because it's to old too do anything else.

My scale is 3. I don't use my phone much, I just use it sometimes to listen to music or to phone to my friends.

Bump.
I chose 5. I definitely need it when I'm going out, but I like to alternate between using my computer and using my phone when I'm at home.

I still find that plurality on zero to be very suspect.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I'm a zero currently but only because technically I hardly ever use my phone, though I'm very dependant on my iPod touch. I use it for music and podcasts and the like mostly, I'm one of those people who has his earphones in 24/7...
This one's getting old though and the charging port's starting to fail, plus it's proving to have a lot less space than I need so I've been thinking of getting a new one or possibly an iPhone instead so my number might bump up to a 9 or 10 if I do

Well, I have a tablet and I don't really use my phone that much.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I've shifted to 10. At this point I use my phone for communications and organisation. I actually make use of the calendar to remind me of deadlines and events, and I use messaging both for socialising and project discussions, in addition to email. I'd probably be nowhere as well equipped or informed for my projects without it.
Funny thing is, I still don't play much games on my phone, most leisurely stuff I do is just web browsing on it.

Same here.Master wrote: Funny thing is, I still don't play much games on my phone, most leisurely stuff I do is just web browsing on it.
It's great for quick browsing or communications. Other than the likes of internet, email, Discord, texting, I also tend to use it as a easy go to camera and control my Marantz Pre-amp with it. Oh, I guess I can't forget, I also use it for music now and then. Bluetooth and all.
Games and heavier on the go internet usage, I'll stick with my iPad for that.
As for the scale, I'm not sure what to put because I'm not really dependent on it as I am internet in general, which my iPad and computers provide.

I do as well.Master wrote:Funny thing is, I still don't play much games on my phone, most leisurely stuff I do is just web browsing on it.
I don't really like to play games on it. There isn't a lot of finger magic for me pull off on a screen. Not to mention that the games could lag. I was getting lagging problems before.
I don't really use it to listen to music, that's what my Ipod Nano is for.. so I don't bother to do that with my phone.
I mostly use it for watching videos on Youtube, Browsing, internet and texting.
But overall. I don't use my phone a lot. So my scale is kinda a 4.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Ever since I upgraded from itouch to iPhone I've become a lot more dependent, but as with the touch 80% of my activity is listening to music/podcasts and the rest is browsing the web or using IM.

I thought I was really phone dependent until I broke my phone about a month ago and didn't really care to send it in for the warranty replacement until three weeks later. I guess having a laptop now eliminates a lot of that, especially when lying in bed.
I am happy to have a phone again though, it was still a little strange.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Bumping, I'd like to put my input as well.
Lately i have become a bit more dependent on my phone, but this is mainly because of my time on here. If I didn't count that, then I would say I rank as a 4-5 normally, but I've chosen 5 because of the recent times. I usually use my phone to organize lists (this is only in rare cases when I DO need it, since I usually have an excellent memory), and do the usual call/text people, along with the occasional gaming apps, but otherwise I have no real need to use it too much since I don't like answering calls, though I don't mind texting.
Outside of my house, I depend on my phone a little more because wherever I go driving, I usually can't find a decent spot around with internet to use my laptop on, so most of the things I do on my computer my phone ends up taking the role instead. Outside I like using my phone as an mp3 player, browse the internet, and watch videos, which is pretty much all I end up doing with my phone as everything above becomes irrelevant to what I'm doing with my phone while out. It's not a bad thing to use a phone, but with all the newer technology that comes out, it kind of lessens the need for a phone at all when you can make text messages or FaceTime calls from something like an iPad.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I'm changing my vote to a 7. I depend on my phone even more than the last time I voted back in August. Because of that, I haven't used my computer as much. I mainly use it now for RPC posting (not all the time), schoolwork and music.
Re: Are you phone dependent?
I bring my phone everywhere with me and use it for almost everything. I'll vote 8 for now though as I could go on without it if I absolutely had to

Re: Are you phone dependent?
After coming to a near end of the week here I’ve determined that Im actually off on my earlier score. I actually have been using my phone much more often than I usually do since I started posting here. I have a lot of posts I have to constantly keep up with and new ones to bring up (I am a very active person here after all) sometimes, along with all my other things to do when I can’t use WiFi on my computer. I’m switching to 7.
