Goddammit, I hate it when people talk about me.

This locker room is spliting apart. The Management has lost control of the userbase.
Looks like the 2016 New York Jets. Oh you guys, you always know how to speak to me <3

Eh, it's not like we've reached a level where folks are talking about conversational networks and the like.

Personally, I think it's not that bad as of now. I remember there being days where there would only be 1 post per 2,5 hours.

I agree with what incognito said previously. These chats kill the forum slowly and their members bring the typical shit posted here in this forum, which isn't really pleasant to people who do their best to contribute to the forum as much as possible.

You didn't have to go on that level.Fifo wrote:I’m temporarily disabling the Discord invite.
That's the main problem right there. Leave whatever they talk about in Discord and related chats, keep it there. The forum has come a long way, it would be a shame for it to come to a sharp decline in general.Harpic fraîcheur wrote:members bring the typical shit posted here in this forum
EDIT: On another note, has new members always been this way? Come on the forum for one or two weeks and suddenly disappear?

Re: Off Topic
So now you're in charge of determining exactly what kind of behaviour is suitable for instant messaging, and exactly what kind of behaviour is suitable for a forum? May I bring to your attention the fact that, on average, your every-day average You Game post has about as much or even less value to it than the average shitpost, simply due to the fact that shitposts are actually funny?Ray502 wrote:Leave whatever they talk about in Discord and related chats, keep it there.
No, you're overreacting. Keane and I are pretty much the only ones who "shitpost", and it's actually not even that frequently (most of the time there's actually a legitimate point being made), nor are they harming anyone, and I'm contributing to the community (both in terms of creating content and spurring interesting discussion) way the fuck more than most people.Harpic fraîcheur wrote:I agree with what incognito said previously. You all seem to be at that stage in life where you have an overbearing desire to be uptight, even when you're complete hypocrites in doing so.
Yes, nothing's changed. New members come frequently, only a few stick around; this happens on every forum.Ray502 wrote:EDIT: On another note, has new members always been this way? Come on the forum for one or two weeks and suddenly disappear?
I like how this conversation apparently started from some creatively blurred Zalgo, as if the mere sight of it, in spite of it holding no allegiance or opinion of it own, offended incognito so much that he had an emotional breakdown.

Looks like I lost my reputation of being the hippest shitposter here on the forum. I'll never get VIP access to RPC like this.Adsolution wrote:No, you're overreacting. Actually, I wonder if losing that reputation is a good thing or a bad thing

Re: Off Topic
I was merely offering my opinion that has been basically stated by others recently. There wasn't any kind of intent to command people to "leave those discussions where they belong," no, I know I have no power as a regular member to have such meaning.Adsolution wrote:So now you're in charge of determining exactly what kind of behaviour is suitable for instant messaging, and exactly what kind of behaviour is suitable for a forum?
It's a little different because of two reasons:Adsolution wrote:May I bring to your attention the fact that, on average, your every-day average You Game post has about as much or even less value to it than the average shitpost, simply due to the fact that shitposts are actually funny?
1. The topic is on RPC.
2. It's the most posted topic on the forum.
If it isn't spam, then it contributes just fine.

I wouldn't be too sure of that if I were you, forums are considered as dinosaurs nowadays.Master wrote:Eh, it's not like we've reached a level where folks are talking about conversational networks and the like.
The main problem is that it is like treachery, the more you do the more you want, and on the end it doesn't look good. By that of course I mean that the more I shitpost the more I wanna shitpost, and id doesn't contribute in making me better.Ray502 wrote:That's the main problem right there. I don't know, is exploiting the activity of a forum in order to make you business work ? Yes, is that bad to want to talk more with people that you consider sure and that you want to discuss with ? No, but there are already the previously mentioned forum to do so.Ray502 wrote:You didn't have to go on that level.Fifo wrote:I’m temporarily disabling the Discord invite.

Shitposting is actually not a good way to contribute to this community or nor to its members.Adsolution wrote:No, you're overreacting. Re: Off Topic
People using IMs to talk to people on RPC is hardly a new thing and was something that was about even at the peak of the forums activity. So frankly this apparent idea that Discord/Skype is a major cause in the lack of discussion here is bogus. Not to mention those who believe it does sound like they're on a mighty high horse to not only say such but to suggest that they contribute more "quality/important" posts to this forum than those people do.

This is just how I consider most of the guys who like shitposting.Serza5 wrote:Not to mention those who believe it does sound like they're on a mighty high horse to not only say such but to suggest that they contribute more "quality/important" posts to this forum than those people do.
Re: Off Topic
Excuse me Serza, but the IRC was never as big as the chat is nowadays, and while it's impact was noticeable, it was never as important as it is today.

Re: Off Topic
Unless Discord is somehow more active than Skype then the IRC at it's peak has been greatly active that's on par with how Skype is now, and unless you guys only got it when people stopped using the IRC then i've no idea how you two could compare the chats.
Either way my point still is, and still stands that the chats at the very least are far from the sole cause of the decline in forums. You two should at least know how much drama has been going on the past years and while i'm not saying this is the sole reason why there's a decline you can't deny that this too is a reason (among other smaller ones such as people just moving on from forums in general) for it which had a very noticable impact, arguebly more than these chats simply existing.

There's like five people in there, and it's basically north korea, complete with the jong (what could you expect)Serza5 wrote:Unless Discord is somehow more active than Skype
Did you know I've actually never invited anyone to the Skype group? They all came of their own accord, or through other people. Entirely word of mouth with none of my involvement!incognito wrote:Posting on your group with your growing gang, punk.

Those reasons, at least with how you've presented them, don't make sense.Ray502 wrote:It's a little different because of two reasons:

How would you know? The IRC's been around here far longer than you have.incognito wrote:Excuse me Serza, but the IRC was never as big as the chat is nowadays, and while it's impact was noticeable, it was never as important as it is today.
